Lovely food and a large variety. Welcoming staff and great service. Large indoor space and a large garden with a decking area. A very communal place to eat or have a drink with family or friends. 5/5, would definitely recommend for a family dinner or just an occasional drink with friends. Definitely should visit if ever in the area or just passing. 👍👍#notbadforaboozer

Wonderful village pub, with super friendly staff. Just borderline on prices, but their menu looks amazing. I didn't eat on this visit, but I'll make a point of trying something next time. Be aware that you can park in the Village Hall car park, which is directly beside The Vine. Highly recommended.

Decent roast but shame it was all well done and no pink bits. Nice merlot and Sauvignon, Peroni seemed lively and how it should be. Lovely atmosphere and nice open fire 🔥 had a nice Smokey tinge in the air

We were looking forward to eating here and tried to book a table for tomorrow night (Wine Down Wednesday) the 3rd of Jan. Calling the phone number, no reply, the website suggests they are open. The Vine Twitter Feed proudly posting that tonight (Tuesday) is a special Two for Tuesdays night so we assumed it would be open. Since we only were 10 minutes away in the next village over: Denmead so we popped over to The Vine to make the booking only to find the place completely dark! Somewhat like the Marie Celeste - everything looks normal, the door signs indicate it should be open, the chalk boards are current but there is not a sign of anyone being about!! Has this place closed? I was reading reviews from last week so I would be surprised - especially with no warning. Very...

The vine is indeed an excellent choice - however to be fair to the previous frustrated poster, pretty sure I also saw the auto-tweets proclaiming the Vine featured the usual 2 for Tuesday on the 2nd of Jan. I would have expected to see a LOUD "we are closed the 1st and 2nd of Jan" banner on the website of which there was no obvious sign. The Twitter feed should also reflect this status. There was also no advisory message left on their phone - it just simply rang then dropped. I also dropped by the Vine to check and there was no visible signage suggesting it would be closed for those days. That is far from Gareth's suggestion that they "clearly stated" closure for those days. It was certainly not obvious...

The Vine Pub in Hambledon is everything you'd hope for in a traditional English village pub. The food is excellent — generous portions at very reasonable prices, perfect after a countryside walk or a game of darts. Speaking of which, the dart board is top-notch and always draws a bit of friendly competition from the locals, who are warm, welcoming, and full of character.

There's a lovely little garden out back — not huge, but charming and peaceful, ideal for a pint in the sun. Whether you're popping in for a meal, a drink, or just a chat, The Vine has that rare, authentic pub atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

Highly recommended if you're...
