Arrowe Park — Restaurant in Wirral

Upon entry we saw a 5 star hygiene rating which was a good start but it went downhill from there. Firstly I ordered a drink and the glass came with lipstick on it! Surely the glasses get cleaned? But the lady at the bar replaced the drink. Then we were brought our knives and forks in a bucket, and much to our disgust there was food still on them. So we asked for some clean ones and were given another bucket full of unclean ones but decided we would clean them ourselves this time to avoid any trouble. Then when the meals came they all looked "Okay" but did not taste "Okay" and it all semed tough and reheated. But we also had a chicken salad which was not dressed like the menu had said. Then much to our shock out of the front window was our waitress having a cigarette on a bench in the beer garden! Next we decided we had enough and when one of our party moved her plate she found tomato ketchup on the bottom. which meant the plate had not been washed instead wiped clean. This is lazyness on behalf of the staff and pot washer, this could cause illness and possibly a allergic reaction, and after asking the manager to come to the table to report this privately to avoid anyone hearing she offered us replacement meals or desserts which we rejected to avoid possible food poisoning due to lack of cleanliness. Then after not being shocked almost as if she had seen it before decided to tell us the last option is a refund which we accepted and dealt with this at the bar. And on our way out I decided to look at the "5 star" hygiene award only to find out it was dated 2014 surely this is false advertisement! Then we left and will never return and will pass the word on. Not a good one , some of the staff are rude and as much as i don’t like to say this but the only reason I can think of that I was treated that way was racism. As I can’t think for a moment that I would be treated that way if I was white. This is what happened: after I placed meal order for my family I came back to the bar to get an empty cup for my 2 years old son so he could put his orange juice in it, I was waiting in the queue, couple of people were in front of me and a male bartender was serving, and there came a lady bartender and went to the other cash register and I thought maybe she was opening it to start serving people, I only wanted an empty cup so I approached the bar and I said “excuse me” and she didn’t even let me finish my sentence and said I’m busy and walked away to the other side of the bar, after a minute or two she came back and I was still there waiting and came to see what I wanted so I told her I wanted an empty cup then she said “Ahh I could just get that for you before” I think she realised she was rude and was trying to make up for it. I wanted to say “ well it’s because you never let me finish my sentence and walked off” but I didn’t say it. Any way she then got me the cup but I was already upset and offended as a customer. There was another young waitress there who was not friendly and as we came in and were looking to find a suitable table as we never been there before, she was very short with her answers and not friendly at all. Went there Sunday afternoon 20.5.18 ,the last time I'd visited there the food and the staff were fine ,today I took my granddaughter and my greatgranddaughter for meal before we picked there Nan up from arrowe park hospital,we ordered 2 large mixed grills and a child's chicken nuggets and chips ,the meals came with the waitress saying watch your self the plates are red hot ,it was a pity the food on the plate wasn't, we called her back because the chicken breast was cold on both meals,she said she was awful sorry came back within 2 mins with some pipping hot microwaved NEW ones ,has we started eating the rest of the meal the chips where warm the sausages steak and gammon, onion rings were not to bad at least they where hot ,while I was at the toilet the asked my granddaughter was the meal to much for you to eat ,she replied no it was awful, the meat is in a couple of napkins to take home for the dog ,oh I'm awful sorry she said with wasn't her fault ,she came back and gave us £10.50 back off the meals because the chicken was cold ,said she would tell the manager and offered us free deserts ,one of them was already paid for in the children's meal ,but told her no thanks but I wouldn't be coming back for another meal ,I wouldn't mind it wasn't even busy where you would think they were run off there feet ,also while my granddaughter was ordering drinks 3 meals where sent back and 2 starters ,don't no who's cooking the meals in there but there not doing the pub any favours ,my advise go elsewhere unless you just...
