Quite possibly one of the poorest value for money pubs in the local area and, disappointingly, the food was poorly prepared. Considering the prices, I was expecting more than the meagre portions that were served. The child’s meal, at £7.95, consisted of a tiny dollop of mash and one sausage cut in half down the middle. At pubs within a 5 mile radius this would not only cost significantly less, but there would have been enough for a child of 12 years old. This would have been appropriate for a 5-6 year old at best. The side of vegetables I ordered were swimming in butter and ridiculously over seasoned with salt. The dough of the pizza was undercooked and, for the price, was very poor value. It was akin to grilled flatbread at best. The soup was possibly the nicest thing ordered, and so it should be at £6.95, although it was clear that it had added sugar as the sweetness was far beyond what you would get from even the most slow cooked carrots! I would strongly urge that you look at the menu before visiting. Prices are higher than I have seen and it seems that this pub is putting customer satisfaction beneath that of its bottom line. I have no problem paying for expensive meals, but you have to deliver. When a pub is charging prices that are higher than most town based restaurants, you expect better. Tom’s service was the highlight of the evening, I guess. He was friendly, approachable and helpful. On bringing the bill, he cheerily asked if everything was okay, seeking feedback. The ‘actually, no. I think it was quite poor’ was initially mistaken as a joke but, he dealt with the constructive criticism very well, and so he should because this negative review is not geared towards him in any way. This is yet another pub with ideas way above its station in terms of its offering. As a family, we won’t be revisiting again. Sad really as I remember this pub being significantly better in the past.

The Nags Head in Woking is an absolute gem! My family and I recently visited, and from the moment we stepped in, we were treated to exceptional hospitality. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. What truly set this pub apart was how the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. Whether it was their attentive service, thoughtful recommendations, or simply the friendly atmosphere they created, every detail was perfect. The food and drinks were outstanding, adding to the overall wonderful experience. The Nags Head is more than just a pub—it's a place where you can relax, enjoy great company, and be treated like family. We left with smiles on our faces and memories to cherish. Thank you to everyone at The Nags Head for making our visit so special. We'll definitely be back!

Due to a local pub not serving food it was a unanimous decision to try the Nags Head as we were all local people. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming team tended to our needs. The food was exemplary, the Service outstanding nothing was too much trouble. We were so looked after by the superb staff including Ben, Harry & Josie & absolute credit to the chefs behind the scenes who produced first class cuisine. We were celebrating a birthday in the group & we all were super impressed by absolutely everything. If I had to rate this experience it would be top marks in all fields. Well done everybody you made our impromptu evening so memorable & enjoyable. Huge congratulations to each & every one of you including a new waiter who started this evening who was so professional on all fronts. WE WILL ALL BE BACK. ⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tuesday 12th August. It was 34 degrees today! So we fancied a cold pint and a burger. We booked a table for 7 people @18:15pm. We walked in to an empty pub (no public or staff). The pub was very hot. It was cooler outside! We ventured outside where we found around 35 people in the garden area. We ordered a drink each. We were hounded multiple times by a lady selling quiz tickets (cash only). So we had to get cash back at the bar! And we're pestered until we did so! We had children with us including a baby. With smokers around outside, but inside was uncomfortably hot! 2 of our group ordered food at the bar. I then went in to make our side of the order, but was swiftly told I could not order any food because they were full to capacity! Looking around the whole pub not a soul in sight on a Tuesday evening! I came to the conclusion they are very under staffed! And the two lads behind the bar were barley drinking age and stuggled working the till! The young chap was completely uncaring and actually interrupted me talking about my upset on the situation because he had to ask his colleague a question about the till operation. Then replied "sorry, carry on".

We came back 25 minutes later to be told "we are still too busy" so I then had to pack the children in the car and make a trip to McDonald's! Leaving our family and baby behind.

My conclusion is they spent too much money on the recent renovation and had to cut staff to make up the losses.

Was a nice place....

We went there on Christmas Eve for our very first dinner out on this special day. We booked early October for the festive menu. We usually have a home cooked Christmas dinner as we celebrate on Christmas Eve so this was a treat and we were all looking forward to it. The only item on the children’s Christmas menu was the turkey. Our reservation was for 6:30pm. And when it came to order they had run out of the turkey. They did not offer an alternative so my son had to have a margarita pizza (the only other option on the festive menu) for Christmas. Once my starter arrived it looked like it had been slapped on the plate without care. My husband ordered a drink that didn’t arrive. When we first arrived they placed us literally in a room with a party of about 50 people - of which most were standing. We were moved after explaining we could not hear each other, to a table just behind the party of guests where they were also filtering into the area. Eventually they found us a suitable table. I would not normally write such a review but I have been to this pub on many occasions and the only thing I could ever fault before was the service. But the food has been really good. It is sad that the standard has dropped so much on such an eventful night. We will not be returning for any big occasion as it seems the staff cannot cope on such a large scale. Sad...
