Oak Apple — Restaurant in Worcester

Ordered food which took a while as only one young lad serving and he appeared to be relatively new. Food arrived…ordered steak to be cooked medium, it was so over cooked the bottom was black. It was served thrown in a dish and a few fries on the side. All vegetable accompaniments were missing…peas, mushrooms and tomato. When I finally got the servers attention he apologised and he returned later once half the remaining food had been consumed (dog enjoyed the steak) I did eat the veg as I fast and hadn’t eaten in 30 hours and didn’t have another opportunity to eat for the next 6 hours due to having to go to Bristol. Mum had hunters chicken which again came without any sides / no side salad as advertised or grilled tomato other than chips and the chicken was rock hard and over cooked. ETA After visiting again last night things have not improved with the kitchen. Front of house staff were great. Kitchen decided to close early! Don't tell people they can order food up until 8 if they can't even do that! That was the last chance I'll give this place. If I could give it less than one star I would.

Original review I'd previously said it was a nice local pub, however this week we revisited for the first time since covid and I was very disappointed. I booked a table to eat at 8pm. We got there only to be told they stopped serving food at 8... then why give me a table at 8 when you knew we wanted to eat?! Then just to rub it in the staff all sat down at 10pm to have fish and chips cooked by the kitchen yet they couldn't even manage a portion of chips for us. Awful experience back. We'll keep walking to the next...

So looks lovely on the outside but walking in it has a bit of a run down feel to it. Definitely needs an updated look interior wise and some TLC. Bar staff were nice but table service lacking when came to food. There were a few dirty tables in there with no floor staff around to clean them for a good 20 mins. Ordered the halloumi fries and potato skins which were ok but nothing like we expected. Was supposed to get some sauce with the potato skins as described in the menu but had to go to request it at the bar instead. When it was brought out to me it was put in a beer mug of all things?!! Squirted all up the side too without a care in the world which said a lot to me about their standards of customer service considering they're a Marstons chain pub. Overall was ok but probably...
