The Bay Café — Restaurant in Wychavon

This is one of my favourite places to cycle to because of their amazing customer service and how friendly they are. They remember me each time and always make me feel welcome and its a nice 50 mile round trip. However, and I hope this isn't take as too criticial and only constructive, our trip at the weekend was a little disappointing. If I'm going to pay more for a hot chocolate than it costs me to make at home it has to be as good if not better. Disappointingly it was luke warm instant hot chocolate not even made with milk and served with only brown sugar so not as good as I make at home. The cake slices were both a little stingy and neither were particularly special. I expected the banana cake to be like a banana loaf and made with real bananas but it was just an odd thin layer of flavouring which never tastes the same as proper banana and the ginger cake was equally a little disappointing. Overly moist bottom and drier top. I'll be back but I think I'll have to try some other places...

We arrived as 3 adults and 3 toddlers, cakes were beautiful. Most of the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome but unfortunately there was one member of staff who said "can you not let the kids draw all over my tablecloths they are expensive" whilst we were eating our cakes and sipping our drinks, first of all I made sure that the felt tip pen provided as part of the Easter trail from the garden centre would in fact rub off the plastic which in fact it did, secondly the same lady then decides to print off a laminate sheet saying "please ensure the children aren't drawing on the tablecloths" right infront of us while we were sitting at the table. I’ve visited the bay cafe cafe a few times, once with my daughter during the Easter holidays, she had an omelette which was THE BEST omelette weve ever tasted, I had the tuna crunch sandwich, again, an amazing sandwich and salad.

Visited again today, 27th April 2024 with my friend. We both had burgers from the specials menu, she had the chicken fajita burger and I had the halloumi fajita burger, probably the best meal we’ve both had in a very long time the quality of our meals were fantastic, the food was out of this world, tasty, extremely well presented and full of flavour.

If you haven’t visited here yet, I highly recommend you do, you will not be disappointed. Kudos to the chef and also the staff who are...
