We were first time visitors who were passing by and noticed the tourist trail sign on the main road. We were given a warm welcome and after asking were given a potted history of the 16th century establishment which was very interesting and delivered by a young lady member of staff who was clearly loved the place and her job and was very knowledgeable and well informed about the history of the place. There were good choices on the main menu and also on the specials board and we were pleased with our main menu choice, all of which were promptly set to the table, tasty and well cooked. Read moreThe experience was truly awful, we waited over a hour and a half for the food with a mix up with our order, and when it did come it wasn't worth waiting for...the meat was very hard and dry, the cauliflower cheese was the scraps with what looked like powered cheese, and it to me like they had run out of food. The waitresses ask us how the food was and we said it wasn't good at all, and all we got was a ok and a shrug of the shoulders and no apology, me and the family were very disappointed in the way we were treated, will never go there again, I would suggest to go to The Chequers inn around the corner in Fladbury, the old Chestnut tree inn total...
Read moreSo much potential but wow what a shambles.. not from the area so we booked here for my birthday and there were limited drinks apparently if the locals don't drink it they don't stock it. We ordered two steaks, and these were fine but served with no cutlery. Then, two pizzas of which one was burnt and one was luke warm apparently they only have one pizza oven. Whilst just getting on with the disappointing meal we heard the girl tell the next customers we have no more steak.. no more curry.. no more pizza.. how on earth this place stays open I...
