Lynn's Cafe — Restaurant in Abbeville

Cute little place. Wasn't entirely impressed with the greeting when I came in at 8:30 for breakfast. (Even though google's hours were incorrect, they were open). I was greeted with "Are you picking up an order?" As I was looking around for a table that was cleaned off from previous customers plates. I find one table that didn't appear to have been wiped off but was the only one available. Sitting under a light that didn't fully light because it had a blown bulb that just flickered. Since it was in the corner it must not be of importance to fix. Service was prompt, however it doesn't seem like they "have anything." On menu or just decaf coffee seems to be followed a lot with "we don't have that." Nothing more. No follow ups. No suggestions. After receiving my food, which was a large plate full, (veggie omelet that was more of just some eggs,cheese, and a whole lot of onions and puree tomatoes) I only see my server one other time to refill my coffee and then to take my plate and ask if I wanted more coffee. No bill no ticket so I could look it over before going to cash out. From what I could tell from the menu the prices were reasonable, but also saw "prices are subject to change without warning" so was really looking forward to seeing my bill before. They also fail to tell you there is any kind of a card fee. It's less than $1 (or at least was for my bill) but it still would have been nice to have a heads up. Not sure if it's somewhere I'll revisit...

The food was good I had the veggie omelette with grits toast and a biscuit. The ladies working there were sweet also. I however hated the smoking. I couldn’t eat in peace without having my allergies going crazy. The gentleman smoked cigarette after cigarette and it was just too much. I had to rush and eat my food so I could leave and get some fresh air. The restaurant would have gotten a higher rating if it wasn’t for that. It has an old time feel which I enjoyed the cigarettes took that away from me....

Stopped in for lunch. Food was good. Service was great. Atmosphere was even better. My wife had philly cheese steak sandwich. I had patty melt and onion rings.

Some of the reviews complained about smoking. No one was smoking when I was there. The place didn’t smell like smoke at all. I’m wondering if they went all non smoking in the last year. (Those reviews were a year old). Regardless, this is a great place for...
