Updated Review: 10/23/22: Painful update to my original review... Thought we had found a jewel in the rough, but how quickly one can go south :( Our favorite waiter asked one of the wiaters to take our order. He did so. Came back about 10min later and asked if we were ready to order. Uh, no...you already took our order. 30-35 minutes later....no food. My wife asked the waitress if she could check on our food. She was harshly told "your food will come out when it's ready." 😳 Wow. Being reprimanded by a waitress for asking about our order after 35+ minute. Well, 10 minutes later the gentleman that normally waits on us comes by. He checks and finds out the other waiter "NEVER TURNED OUR ORDER IN." The waiter appeared mad at us for asking where our meal was! Really? I would have expected a least an "I'm Sorry." Nope. My wife's tea sat empty on the edge of the table empty for 10 minutes. I finally got the gentleman that was bussing the tables to fill our glasses. Finally got our plates for lunch. The pot roast was really good as was the catfish filets. I spoke to the owner about the experience. He said that he had 3 people that didn't show up today & they were extremely crowded. Sorry, but the ones that didn't show up weren't the ones that lost out order or snapped at my wife. They did help on the bill, by only charging for 2 plates instead of 4. So I guess there's one star left for that. My wife tried to post her feelings to the restuarants Facebook page, but said it would only show after the owner approved the message. Doubt it will ever show then. So here we are 5-star to 1-star. Very disappointed in thus establishment. Doubtful we we will go back. How quick one can go from a jewel to a nothing. We enjoyed the 5 or 6 good meals, but one bad experience negates it all.

Jewel in the rough found here. Absolutely marvelous supper. We had the fried mushrooms for an appitezer and the chicken Alfredo and fried catfish filets for the entree. The portion size is absolutely amazing for the price. The chicken Alfredo looked like it had an entire box of pasta in it and tons of sauce. The fried mushrooms stand up against some of the best we've eaten! Fascinating family environment. Had a great waiter who made us smile with his sense of humor & did a great job of keeping us taken care of. Also got to meet the owner, who was extremely nice & cordial. I usually eat here and are very pleased. However today everyone else in the restaurant people who came in after and ordered after us received their orders even all the adults at my table had food and it took 50 minutes after everyone else in the restaurant was served for my grandson to get his 2 chicken tenders and fries then they came out cold and only after I asked where his food was and why it was taking so long to cook tenders. My grandson has autism and did not understand why he wasn't being fed along with everyone else.I do not have Autism and could not understand why adults received their food in a timely manor and hot when a child received his food cold and after everyone else in the restaurant was fed and left. Not very kid friendly place does not care if the children are fed. I even saw tenders come out on an adults plate who came in and ordered after we did. The owner did not even care that the food was cold and the last plate served even tho we were there before 6pm and didn't leave until 9pm to me, this is unacceptable. I will never take my grand children back here again under no circumstances. It's not worth it

Update I thought I would try again and again it sucked. Couldn't get refills. On top of that, I got charged $368.90 for a 37.90 bill. Only after I called them out on it they offered to refund...

Food quality is not the same since new owners took over restaurant. The past couple of times we ate there the food was not as good. Service was great, atmosphere was great. Food came out quickly. But some of the food was not as hot as I would have liked for it to be. They say same cook, but I think new owners are using different ingredients to fry foods. I used to love the fried porkchop dinner and fried chicken dinner. The last time I got porkchop dinner they were very fatty, poor quality meat. The same with the chicken dinner, chicken was tough. Again poor quality meat. They dont season their veggies at all, seems like they open cans put in pot and dont put any seasoning on them. I'll have a hard time recommending or eating there again and we used to go all the time. Such a shame. New owners should want to continue in George's footsteps. He was an awesome employee/supervisor and cared about how food was. I really hated...
