Where to begin. I started off with a sampler. The apatizer was fried dark brown like it was cooked in old vegetable oil. Was not horrible but digestible. Kind of like the fried food you would expect from a old gas station that levees food out all day for travelers. But when I went to complement it with a bit of their Homemade tarter sauce I was in for an Un expected treet. The tarter sauce too must have been left out all day an then some. It was served room temp in a mayonnaise squeeze bottle and a was as fresh as sour milk. I had to spit it out along with the shimp. Next was a small cup of gumbo tasted like warm water not good at all. Afterward I went to see the buffet. The salad bar was mediocre. The 23 dolar buffet sported a high school favorite of tater tots and Processed french fries right out of the freezer. The seafood was not maintained an I could see people were not getting it so I got a seafood plater it to was over cooked the stuffed crab was stuffed with corn bred no meat. I did see some stringy reminisce of crab but it Was too little to taste. All in all it was a horrible experience. I complained to the owner who had not shaved in days and looked like some homeless santai clause. He told me to leave an never come back. Don't worry pal. The next day I went to Dup u Y's it...
Read moreMy husband and I drove about 1.5 hours, after looking at reviews, to try the seafood buffet. I could not find out from searching what the buffet consisted of other than boiled crabs and shrimp. I now know why it's not advertised! There were fried frogs legs, fish, crawfish and shrimp. Boudin balls, seafood kicker balls and shrimp balls. Crawfish ettoufe, chicken and sausage gumbo and seafood gumbo. Double white rice along with sweet potato tots and regular tots, corn nuggets, Fried Okra. Naked fried fish. First I must say that the seafood gumbo was one of the best I've ever had. The boiled crabs, although all small to medium, Were very seasoned. That's about where the taste ended for me. The boiled shrimp were bland and about medium sized. All the fried food tasted the same and with no seasoning. I was very disappointed until I tried the seafood gumbo then boiled crabs. There was a sign saying don't waste food or you'll be charged for it. I'm sorry, but I could not eat 90% of the food. And if you want desert, it's an upcharge. The restaurant is pretty much a hole in the wall but service was great and the atmosphere was good. I don't think I'd pay $30 / person again though. I would however go back for gumbo alone if I...
Read moreIf I could give them zero stars I would! Worst customer service ever… I called to place a to go order at 5 minutes after 5:00 and was told they were just opening could I call back in 15 minutes, so I waited until 5:25PM and tried again. Then I was asked again if I could call back in a few minutes, so once again I waited 10 minutes and called back. Then I was asked if I could hold for a minute and could hear the girl, or I should say CHILD, in the back ground laughing and joking with other workers and not accomplishing any business whatsoever. After 15 minutes on hold I decided to hang up and try to call back, but now all I get is a busy signal which tells me they still haven’t bothered to pick up the phone to try to take the order. Any business that can’t bother to take a to-go order definitely doesn’t deserve my business. I don’t see how these people stay...
