A Little Slice of Heaven — Restaurant in Abernathy

My son and I have ate here several times and we both really recommend this place! The staff are very pleasant, the restaurant is clean and the food is very good! I have had the Hamburger and Fries plate, the Hamburger was so good tasting, they use high quality meat that you can taste in the Hamburger and the Fries were good too. The next time we went I had the Chicken Fried Steak plate with Fries and when the plate came out I had to look twice as the Chicken Fried Steak was almost as big as the plate and it too was very good! Another couple things about this place is when you enter the restaurant you will see scripture’s on the wall’s and the staff wear Christian tshirts, the prices are very reasonable in fact I think some of the major chain restaurants have higher prices, less food and does not compare to the great tasting food at A little Slice Of Heaven in Abernathy, Tx, it’s right off of I27 so if you are driving by Abernathy be sure and stop in for some real home cooked food. I cannot say enough good things about this little homestyle cafe. It is not very big. The food here is absolutely fantastic.. We got there a little late for lunch. So we were the last ones in the restaurant before they closed down at 2.. The owner came out of the kitchen and introduced himself and was very pleasant. His little grandson, was there. Who's about 1 year old. And when the owner said he was the owner and cook. I said I thought the little guy that just left was the owner. And he laughed and said yeah he is. The atmosphere is truly unique. Bible scriptures in versus all over the walls and the tables. All the help where's christian t shirts. This place was recommended by a friend of mine who said it was amazing. I walk in and am immediately shocked by the decor and Clothes the employees wear. I could have let go of the absolutely out of line overly religious theme of the place, had the food not been so bad. My burgers bun was burned and the patty was very thin. My fries were over cooked and tastes kind of sweet. I feel like they are far more focused on pushing Jesus than they are on pushing good food. The entire place gave me the creeps.
