Great local place!! A nice destination for out-of-towners, like us (from PA).
My wife and I are healthy eaters, picky about quality of food and service, and can eat a lot. This is a place we will come back to! Even thought it's not the healthiest menu, it's a good place to "cheat"!
The breakdown - - Food, Drink, Service, Price, Atmosphere, Closing
Food: We went on wing night. Loads of tempting flavors. We figured an order of 30 wings was no problem for us (15 each), and 3 flavors would do. They are phenomenal - and BIG! We couldn't finish them! (Excellent salad toppers the next day.) We wanted to try the scallop bacon pizza, but were too stuffed. ------- Disclaimer: We did have ice cream from Shaw's Ridge Farm Ice Cream before this (another recommended stop!).
Drink: Wide variety of delicious beer. We had (1) Oh-J and (3) Pulp Trucks
Read moreWe came here while visiting family in the general area and were not dissappointed. When we arrived it was very busy, especially for a Tuesday. It is summer season but we were very surprised. They clearly are an area favorite. We waited about 30 min to get a table for the 6 of us, which was just enough time to get a round from the bar. The bar had a full compliment of beers, cocktails, wine, etc. There was some outdoor seating/hang out space under a pergola that looks pretty new. It was relatively quiet outside since it was VERY hot (unusually hot) on this day (close eto 100 degrees) but it was evening and the sun was setting so it had cooled off some already. Made the wait pretty easy. We ended up getting seated at a bar booth which wasn't bad. The place doesn't really look old, but it has a rustic ambiance. They have old license plates on the ceiling and it's a lot of wood finishes. We started with wings. I highly recommend the wing sampler. 20 wings and it includes 4 flavors. The bacon seemed to be the favorite...weird right. There had to be a few dozen flavors and you could easily just sit and eat wings. We also had some brussel sprouts, but they were just so-so in my opinion. Probably because I was craving meat that day. For entrees the menu was very eclectic, which was a little suprising. The 4 adults had the Cowboy Up (burger), Oh My Pad Thai, Dum Yum Noodles, and Willys Philly (cheesesteak). The kids had the Chicken Tenders and Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. All was pretty good. I was eating the cheesesteak, certainly add on the grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms. Our waiter was on his game. You could tell he was a seasoned waiter. Between drink refill timing and clearing plates to help keep our booth space in an efficient mode, he was on it it. Great job! I think I would go back again just to have the wings and drink beer, but would certainly recommend this place if you are looking for a happy hour vibe. Not sure i would call it a date place as it could be loud inside, just know what you are getting...
Read moreI’m reluctant to leave this review but I have to. I have all positive reviews on Google, because in the rare instance that I have an encounter in an establishment where I’m unhappy, I usually speak to the manager and the matter is dealt with professionally.
This case was handled pretty professionally but the outcome wasn’t favorable to the customer. I’m from out of town and I brought in a friend to help me work on a property and we decided to have dinner after a long day of work. He ordered ribs for dinner and when he received his meal, he got an extremely tasteless, ribless meat dish. We explained this to the waiter who stated he was sorry and that he would speak to the manager . The manager was very professional and waited on us thereafter. We were pretty lax about the whole situation and we thought it would be fair if he had at least offered us a free dessert to make up for the awful meal which my friend didn’t even touch. After all , the price of food these days is astronomical. Moreover, I had ordered a Sangria water that tasted like tap water on ice. No flavor,-not a Sangria. The meal and the drinks were charged at full price which we thought that was very unfair. My steak tips were great but the chicken was grossly overdone. Overall, Willys appears to be a high energy, neighborly restaurant but they must improve their service and they have to have a policy around unhappy customers who are served below par meals. It goes without saying that I won’t return to Willys at all and I probably wouldn’t recommend anyone else...
