1902 Tap and Grill — Restaurant in Adams Township

I went in sat down to order,waitress brought me and my wife a drink. Ordered 2 sandwiches. Waited for close to an hour. A family of five came in behind us ordered about 10 min after us. Their food came out before ours. Waited for 5 min. Got up and the waitress saw me putting on my jacket getting ready to leave. Asked if there was something wrong, I voiced my concern and she tried about 4 different excuses, like it's a busy night, she sat us at the same time, etc. when she came over asked if I wanted to cancel my order. I told her yes. There was no apologies about how long we waited, never said "food will be out in a few minutes. No attempt to keep us to stay. I understand it being busy but when we only had two sandwiches and they had 5. Something is wrong. Weather they forgot to put the order up on time or at all. Also no talk about compensation. All I got was sorry you feel that way.. it lookwas well known we were there for our wedding anniversary as we talked about it with other customers. I don't mind waiting my turn and I don't usually leave without my meal I ordered. But you have to stand up for yourself once and a while. Maybe some day I will try again. Sorry for your loss !! ARGUMENTATIVE, DEFENSIVE, AND RIGHTEOUS OWNER!!! PLEASE READ!!

My son, his friend, and I were there last Friday at 7:19PM. We received our 3 burgers and fries at 8:02PM (47minutes later!) There was only 4 tables in the restaurant on a Friday night which in hindsight I should have seen the red flag ahead of time! So when the server asked how is our food I stated it was switched around with each of us having the wrong items on our burgers but my main issue was the 47 minute wait. The server was nice and when I asked if she could throw in dessert she stated, "sure thing! The owner is here tonight too!" About ten minutes later a very scarcastic older lady visited our table and started to argue with me about the order was put in at 7:22PM not at 7:19PM! She didn't see an issue with waiting 45 minutes for burgers and fries and said, "this isn't Mc.Donalds! We have a new cook in the kitchen tonight and even i had to help!" She didn't not apologize and actually said, "3 pieces of cheesecake was nit warranted for our issue!" I asked her to give us 2 pieces and let's end this conversation. She apparently didn't come to our table to apologize but rather be defensive. Any other restaurant owner would have comped our meal, apologized, and threw in dessert! So glad we stopped here! We had planned on stopping for lunch along the highway in Houghton, but the first place we stopped was closed for the season. After that, we only saw a tiny BBQ place and fast food. We didn’t want to go into the downtown area because of the congestion. A few miles later, we spotted the 1902 Tap and Grill and decided to try it. Best decision ever! It was very clean and modern, and we were greeted immediately. Our server was very friendly and the food was simply outstanding. The corn chowder with huge chunks of bacon (or pork belly?) was amazing! I had the cod nugget basket with fried potato chips and my husband had a beer cheese burger.. both outstanding, but they also had ribs on special that sounded really good as well. The prices were also very reasonable. Before we left, we enjoyed a nice conversation about traveling in the area and around Lake Superior with the owner. Next time we pass by, we will definitely...
