Attention to detail was superb in servicing their patrons. Food portions were sufficient. The regular stuffed monfongo with chicken was good, but they put too much sauce (caldo), that the monfongo has the texture of mondongo. The general atmosphere allowed families to unite and gather for conversation and a good meal overlooking the beautiful lush green mountainous region. There were only 3 setbacks. One, you have to know how to stealthily park your car within a tight configuration on a partial hill. Second, if you intend on eating here on an extremely hot day, you are going to roast, sweat, and I pity anyone who is respectfully suffering from hot flashes. No air conditioner! If it rains, it's refreshingly welcoming, but the floor tiles become a skating rink if you do not have the proper foot gear. It's an open concept restaurant even though the roof and hanging curtains to block the sun's rays are in place, but it's not enough. Finally, the workers are industrious under hot inclement weather to provide optimal service. They do their utmost to comply with patrons' demands and meal needs. Therefore, for those "cheap" patrons who fail to leave a tip, shame on you! Personally witnessed a patron pay for a bill of $128 and change, and he didn't give a dime to the overworked waitress. Shameful! Upon witnessing this, I took the initiative to give her the tip that she deserved. She was humbly apprehensive but conceded under the obvious circumstance. It's common sense, people! The wages are minimal on the island, so dignify the waiters and waitresses with respectable tips! The receipt even has the suggested tip math calculations done for you if you're unable to determine the percentages. Enjoy the island and their diversified restaurants, but respectfully compensate the...
Read moreI went to this restaurant as a recommendation from a friend. The service is good somehow the view is beautiful. My issue with this place was the food. I came in to eat mofongo and when I left I was still wanting to eat mofongo. My plate was all meat and stew and probably 4 spoons of plantains I have never in life go to eat mofongo and barely have plantains is what mofongo is supposed to be. My wife plate was so salty she had heartburns all night long not even zantac will help her. I told the waitress about my plate not having plantains and he said ok laugh and went and get me my bill completely inaprinapprop he could at least apologize since I told him I came to eat mofongo and I'm leaving wanting to eat mofongo. Not recommend at all to eat.
Read moreNice ambiance restaurant, with a beautiful view. The food is above average, the nicest part of our meal was the Surtido Grande, with the fried cheese and Carne Frita being especially tasty. The Chillo (Red Snapper) fish stuffed with lobster and shrimp was not very good. The fish came in a sauce (Criolla?) but it was flavorless and the lobster was overcooked and chewy and for $22 not a good dish by any stretch of the imagination. The mofongo was OK. The star was the fried whole Red Snapper (Chillo) which was cook very well and it was served with an excellent sauce.
The sangria (passion fruit) did not taste like sangria, but it was a refreshing drink, more like a weak mojito.
And lastly, please remove the frozen vegetables salad from your dishes, like immediately. There is no room for that in a nice restaurant plate, maybe in a cafeteria or hospital one, but not in a real restaurant. Not when you are paying...
