La Casa del Dorado — Restaurant in Aguada

Went with a large group. The waiters were earnest but seemed a bit overwhelmed. I don't know if it was them or the kitchen, but service was slow. When my mofongo relleno de camerones arrived it was very cold. The shrimp was tough and rubbery and the salsa criolla watery and not very flavorful. The surtido on the other hand was very good, especially the fish nuggets. The strawberry daiquiri I ordered was too sweet and had to leave half of it. The site had a great view of Aguadilla Bay. All things considered, I'm not sure if I would recommend.

Update: Gave it another try. Regrettably. One of the nastiest experiences I've ever had. Our mero had several stringy things imbedded within the tender flakiness of the fish that turned out to be...worms. Never ever...

This place was nice, friendly atmosphere. There was a local singing along with the oldies music, which people seemed not be bothered by. We ordered the Surtido Grande, which was enough for two adults and a 5yr old, we had left over, and the food was beyond delicious. Very impressed. For drinks we ordered the Parcha Daiquiri, which was also delish. The two staff members that waitied on us were kind and kid friendly. The manager stopped by our table to ask how the food was and asked if we needed anything. Highly recommend. We will be back on our next trip to PR for...

The best empanadillas! I have seen this place evolve from a fish (Pescaderia) to a small empanadilla "chinchorro" store, to become a full fledged restaurant. All their food is delicious and the view of the ocean is spectacular! Service is a little slow for me who was sitting with my elderly grandmother. We see, like in many places in PR, some loose dogs.
