Will-O-Wisp Café — Restaurant in Ahoskie

I’ve seen mixed reviews of this business on Facebook and being a gates county resident, I decided to try it. So I came in today and let’s say I was more than impressed. I walked in to a clean and welcoming environment. The music was tasteful, everything was clean and neat. The building is older but well maintained. Food may be seen as pricey to some but what isn’t in this economy. However, it tasted great! The wait time was a little longer than I expected/liked but they were working very hard and multitasking (answering phones/taking orders) so I can’t hold that against them. Even if everything else wasn’t up to par, the customer service alone would be enough for me to come back! Good customer service is hard to find. When we walked in, I was a bit dubious because it didn’t look like anything. But, we ordered anyway. Pizza (half cheese, half pepperoni & sausage) and 3 drinks was $32 after tip. The pizza was very good. Leftovers were even good cold a couple days later. There are board games that can be played, but they are mostly very complex and for older players who are interested in those. We used google to search for a nearby place for lunch and it took us to this place. Tbh, we had never been such a strange setting restaurant as this one, it’s hard to explain by words :) Beside the 3 booths, we saw a few round tables placed here and there, so we guessed they are for groups of local ppl who come to play come certain games or tournaments ?!
