If you're looking for a vintage, old-school dinner serving up classic american food then this is the place to go! They serve burgers, sandwiches, sides, desserts and more! This place has been around since 1931 and still holds true to their roots with the atmosphere and food but still have some modern updates such as the "Beyond Burger" made with plant-based meat. Overall, if you're passing through the area and want food that echos to a rich past of classic american food, this is the place.
I had the "Award Winning" Bonanza Burger and the wife had the Undefeated Burger. My burger was a single burger with provolone cheese, BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, mayo and lettuce. The wife had a single burger, american cheese, fries, ketchup, mayo and lettuce.
The burgers were cooked well done and they are cooked right in front of you since the burger station is on the other side of the counter. Fried items and other food items are made in the back. Speaking of fried foods we also had the handmade sauerkraut balls and hand dipped onion rings! I've never had sauerkraut balls and thought they were going to be just fried cabbage but I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into them and found out they are actually filled with sausage and cheese also! They are served with cocktail sauce for dipping which was also strange to me but actually paired really nicely. The onion rings are BIG and we couldn't finish them all but had good flavor to them. The batter was thick which meant that the onion rings didn't fall apart when you ate them but maybe was a bit too thick because I felt as though I was eating more breading than onion. The onion rings come with ranch as a dipping sauce.
We didn't get dessert here because if you're following us you'd know we went to Skoops Ice Cream for lunch and had our sugar for the day haha. In total, I'd say this is a great place to meet up with some friends and have that classic burger and fries that everyone loves. I would come back here and recommend it to others.

Read moreThis review is based on my employment at Bobs. I ran this diner for the current owners for 2 yrs because upon purchase of Bobs they had no clue about anything that pertained to the history or menu...etc. I was the manager and cook. Never missed a day because I couldn't because they refused to run it with more then 3 people. I worked the grill with a boot on my foot for 8 hours be cause nobody could cover me. Gave my blood, sweat, and tears with no vacation, benefits or paid time off(we did eventually get 1 paid off starting in Jan2023 every quarter) but I couldn't take it because of course there was not another person that could cook. Believe when I say that I really cared about the owners and hated to part ways but I have gotten to old not to have ANY BENEFITS. They offered None! Also the stress took a tow on me especially after loosing my husband 2 yrs prior (didn't get paid for time off then either now that I think about it) I have a job now that offers all benefits and they started the day of employment..thank God. After telling my story I just wanted to say that I now have to fight Bobs Hamburg for money owed to me that now that I'm not working there they refuse to pay even though it is due to their business negligent. I now have to take it to small claims and that's really sad. With all this being said I've heard that the place just isn't the Original Bobs Hamburg anymore and that makes a lot of us sadder than anything. Kiosk!!! Really. Not giving customers your time and conversation isn't Bobs..it's McDonald's..smh Update on this post will be on Yelp...stay tune. 4/27/23..just ran into 2 of my Bobs customers at Aldi...been going there for 65 yrs and said after their recent visit that they will not return. They were very sad to...
