Ok, not a 5 star Resteraunt... It is a 5 Star Mom and Pop's kinda place. Serving typical diner food from Hamburger with fries to Steak and Seafood. Daily Lunch Specials. Appetizers, daily sides, Cooked COUNTRY STYLE all served with very friendly staff and Chiet T himself checking to assure everything was prepared and served right. Seafood (Catfish Pkatter) was fantastic, cooked correct and heaping proportions. Order an Ala carte Vegetable Plate of Side dishes, not in menu... No Problem, served with good proportions with; Real mashed potatoes; Yams, candied to perfection; greens that tasted well seasoned, butter beans (large limas) cooked with ham; and Fried GREEN TOMATOES which were cut and made in house and not the typical frozen and fried you usually get... about ½" Thick.
As stated: Not a fine diner! But a fell at home diner. Not a fancy, frilled interior! You'll get a fork and knife if you need one and spoon on request. Ask for lemon in your tea, and get a packet of lemon juice.. Brown paper napkins... BUT NONE OF THIS MATTERS... The food and Service for the price, makes this small, off the beaten path out of town, diner, well worth the stop Good Food, Good Service, Management that wants you pleased, all at an affordable price.
This is one of the few 5Stars you'll see from me that I've given In 10 years here. Well...
Read moreLast night I had supper at Chef T's for the first time. It was excellent! I had the evening special; a ribeye with baby red potatoes, green beans and Texas toast. Skewered grilled shrimp was also offered with the steak. I asked to drop the shrimp on my order, knowing the large serving size at Chef T's. What was I thinking? Now I wish I had accepted the shrimp and just bring the extra home. I normally have breakfast or lunch. Their breakfasts are superb. They serve anything you can imagine for breakfast. The daily lunch specials give you a variety of entrees with a large selection of vegetables. My favorite lunch days are Tuesday and Thursday... pork chops and fish. You are always treated as family as soon as you walk in. The staff know the menu and specials very well. They are friendly and sincerely happy for you to join them. All of their food is fresh and homemade. You can order daily specials or off the menu. Pricing is very reasonable. Serving size is more than enough. You will never leave hungry. You will never be disappointed with whichever...
Read moreI visit a lot of diffetent restaurants in my area as well as in my travels. I found the atmosphere at Chef T's to be relaxed. I would describe the food as having it's own special taste. The burgers were served on Texas toast as was the hamburger steaks. Definately a place for the bread lover. The fries were average. The fried green tomatoes were very well prepared and the Cole slaw was definately an original recipe. So, the food gets five stars for taste and nostalgic appeal. If I had to improve on any areas, it would be improvements to the presentation of the front line. The staff was cordial. However, their personal items were being stored in pans on the buffet line in the front of the restaurant. I do not believe that the buffet is in use. Nevertheless, it just doesn't look good to the customers when they walk in. As we checked out, our credit card was "ran" through a device attached to a cellphone. I would expect this at a festival or a fair. But, this is not what I would expect from a "brick and...
