Sunday afternoon after shopping the wife and I were trying to decide what to have for dinner. We didn't want pizza, chicken, sandwiches, eat. We wanted something different so we went to China Dragon III located at 7190 Wall Triana Hwy, Madison, AL. We've eaten in the restaurant before as well as ordered by phone and picked up the food ourselves. On this occasion we decided to go to the restaurant, order and take the food home to enjoy. The restaurant is located between two businesses at the Texaco gas station. There are only a few tables but most customers order and pick-up so there really doesn't need to be a lot of seating. There also isn't a lot of flair and fancy wall decorations like most restaurants but that has absolutely nothing to do with the quality or flavors of there meals they prepare. We ordered the C12, Shrimp with Lobster sauce for our son. It came with white rice and one pork egg roll. For my wife and I, we ordered the Fried Dumplings (8 each), Crab Rangoon (10 each), and C21, the Sweet and Sour Chicken which also included fried rice and a pork egg roll. Our orders also included a mild but tasty dipping sauce for Fried Dumplings and Sweet and Source sauce for the Crab Rangoon and Sweet & Sour Chicken. We also got three Fortune Cookies. There are baskets of soy mustard and duck sauce packets available near the soda machine. Our food was packaged in to go containers which are adequate for take home travel as we have never had a spill or leak from them. Our food was hot and fresh when we arrived home several minutes later. The Fried dumplings were a nice change from the delicious streamed dumplings we've had previously. The fried rice was hot and freshly made and complimented the sweet & sour chicken well. The sweet and sour chicken hot and crunchy and crisp. The Crab Rangoon was hot and crispy and very tasty. These are the best Crab Rangoon we have found in Huntsville. Overall every part of our meal was fantastic. All of the food was well prepared and hot. The servings are substantial. My wife and I shared the Fried Dumplings, Crab Rangoon and Sweet & Sour and still had some chicken and rice left over to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. When we have called in our orders it has been difficult to understand the person on the phone taking the order. But each time we've called in our order is has been correctly prepared to what we ordered.

I'm a fan of American Chinese, but what I got the other day was not very good. I ordered sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. I have a few issues with both. To begin, I ordered the food and the texture and quality of the chicken was not good. It was grainy, stringy and hard. I ate it the next day for lunch and it got stuck in my teeth so harshly that my gums swole up. It was painful and persistent. It only felt better a day later. The flavor was average. The only saving grace was the rice, which had average flavor but it stood out compared to the rest. The rice might have a chicken bullion / flavor powder. Next, the Mongolian beef was something to behold. It looked nothing like any other Mongolian beef I've had before. The beef was in short chops of meat. The beef was not velvetted well. It was almost as hard and grainy as the chicken. The flavor was smoky with a strong acidic worcestshire sauce, no sweetness, and a little spicy. It's not in a good way if you are expecting one way. Lastly, I asked for yum yum sauce, and the lady taking the order asked, "white sauce" and I said ok sure, because sometimes yum yum can be called that. What I got is the opaque sauce w/ white peppery, salty, and lightly sweet hints flavor. It's the same sauce you get with moo goo gai pan. It also wasn't what I wanted, and anyone that works in American Chinese knows about yum yum, usually, I guess. Overall, I'm not ordering again. I only did because of the reviews, so please consider again after reading.

The China Dragon on Pine Grove Road has good food. There are some tables to eat inside, however, I think most people get their food to go. The portions are large, and the food is always hot and fresh. They occasionally do not get special orders (no onions) correct, so I recommend one check special orders before leaving.

New update below! This is my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant. My orders are ALWAYS right. Their menu prices are competitive with other Chinese restaurants. One of the things that I truly appreciate about this particular restaurant is that when you ask for something special, an adjustment or a substitution they are very accommodating. I always order the generals chicken with lo mein & I always ask for extra spicy. I've attempted this at other Chinese takeout restaurants & the heat is never delivered. China Dragon always brings the heat I crave. Check'em out. You won't be disappointed. **Update! I've had some stomach issues for several months, frequently unable to keep much down. Except for egg drop soup with fried noodles. When I'm weak, unable to tolerate anything, I can always count on the lovely, kind people at this establishment to send me the very best soup. Thank you! May God bless...
