El Mariachi — Restaurant in Alabama

Server's seemed to be very hectic but later seemed fine to just stand around and talk to each other, the food was alright but I was given the wrong items for my order, specifically the tortillas, I asked for flour and not corn. The margaritas we had received were mostly just ice, for what was in it, it didn't taste too bad but not very good either. Seemed fairly dirty, more so in the bathroom but that's fair I suppose. Between seating different customers it seems they weren't cleaning the tables all that well between seatings, could've just been a hectic night with a lot of different groups coming in, though the table I sat at had something crusted onto a majority of it.

Overall, not a bad place to eat, I enjoyed my meal despite the wrong items mentioned above, but could be better service wise, maybe get some more hires to help service customers during a rush/busy times of the day. The atmosphere is is good. Very clean. The overall service was good as well. Very friendly and likable. There are 3 reasons I gave the 3 star rating. Number one is because the food is mediocre. Not terrible but most of the other local Mexican restaurants in the area are little better in terms of freshness and flavor. Number two, the serving portions are much smaller than what you receive else where for the same dishes. Number three, the biggest reason by far for the 3 star rating is the prices. This restaurant is very very expensive for the small portions you receive. For example the average cost per person for the last two trips was around $20-25 each person. All we ordered were standard dishes like beef burrito with rice and beans and a sweet tea. I hate to be so hard on this place but l would go more often if the prices were a little lower and the serving sizes were larger than...

Waitress was very rude. She didn’t take the time to carefully listen to our order. We told her me and one other person was sharing the order of 3 shrimp tacos. Well she put the order in for 2 orders of shrimp tacos. So she rudely took the one order back then overcharged us on the one order. We asked them to fix it and the waitress was in an uproar arguing back and forth with us saying that she never heard us we say we were sharing it. Terrible manners and poor customer service. Shame on the people that own or run this place to have an employee allowed to be that disrespectful and rude in a customers face arguing with them.
