The food here is almost always great, but the experience I had today has led me to leave a review.

I ordered some breakfast. I got the carnivore omelette, and I got a half order of biscuits and gravy. The person I talked to asked if I wanted the sides for my omelette, and I said yes. I asked her if they could put the biscuit you get with the omelette in with the half order, and she said that was fine.

I go to the restaurant and pay for my order. They almost forget the sweet tea I ordered, so I reminded them. No big deal.

When I got home and looked at the receipt, they charged me $2.50 for a "special side". I thought it was weird, so I called again and asked them what it was for. I was told they had to put on an additional charge because of my request with the biscuit.

A half order of biscuits and gravy is $3.00.

A full order of biscuits and gravy is $6.00.

Nobody ever told me about the additional charge, because why wouldn't I just pay the extra 50 cents and get the full order? I ended up paying close to double the...

My youngest Grandson and my car show side kick won a meal for 2 at the 217 as a door prize at a recent car show. Well, we finally made it yesterday to redeem his voucher with myself and his Nanny in tow. This was our first time here. When we parked, he remarked that something smelled really good. Inside, we were met by a really sweet waitress, were seated, and received our drinks. My wife and I had the special the day, Eli had grilled catfish, fries, and mac and cheese. Very hospitable atmosphere. Food was received, and you can believe it was on point. The liver and onions were over the top. My wife's beef tips were right there, too. Now Eli is a very harsh food critic at 9 years old, and he did nothing but rave about the grilled catfish. All in all, it was good old Southern comfort food at its best. Kudos to the 217 Cafe and Grill for supporting the car shows. Please continue. If you are on Lott Road at McCreary, check these folks out. It's...

Stopped in for lunch Friday with a coworker, they had the redfish lunch special and I tried a burger with fries. The burger was huge and awesome, I had the Crown burger which comes with a fried egg, onion ring and bbq sauce. I will definitely be back to try others.(The Don) ...The redfish special looked good also but I can't comment on the flavor but my co worker had no complaints....I did try the hushpuppies that came with the redfish and they were great, with a little jalepeno, may be a little spicy for some, but I thought they were perfect...The fries are fresh cut and really good, I thought there could have been a few more fries, but they were still good. It is very casual and laid back with great service too. I went about lunch time and it was not busy at all so it is easy to get in and out if you have a limited...
