Sad to say but this restaurant checks all the marks except for the food, which was extremely disappointing.
The location, the building, the decor, everything is spectacular. It’s like something out of a movie. We sat inside and the sunset looked like a painting looking at it through the restaurant windows.
The service is great too. From the maitre’d to the food runner, everyone was so nice and attentive. Our waitress Rebecca was absolutely fabulous.
Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. We shared a Cesar Salad and it was good but nothing spectacular. We ordered a filet and a dry aged ribeye both cooked medium. We also had the mash potatoes, risotto, and green beans. Also, a side of mac and cheese.
Start with the filet with the Demi glaze and mash potatoes, the steak was overcooked and the mashed potatoes and green beans were super salty, perhaps because of the Demi. The dry aged ribeye was cooked adequately to medium but super dry and tough. The ribeye also had a lump blue crab topping which was also dry like it sat forever before being served. The risotto was ok. The green beans were mushy like they had been sitting in a crockpot all day. The mac and cheese was also dry like it was also sitting all day and reheated right before being served.
We were asked if everything was ok several times and the Maitre’d did ask that we cut into our steaks to make sure the temperature was correct. We said everything was fine. I have a rule though, if I’m paying top dollar for food I expect everything to be perfect. It wasn’t, and honestly, if we would have been honest we would have sent everything back. It wasn’t that just one steak was overcooked or that the mash potatoes were subpar but everything else was great. No, all of the food was subpar and that’s not acceptable when you’re paying top dollar. Our bill was around $225 and we tipped 20% because it’s not the FOH staff’s fault that the food was not good.
I hope this was just a one off because it’s a beautiful restaurant and the...
Read moreMy wife and I absolutely loved our experience at Jesse’s on the Bay in Fort Morgan, AL. We went for a late lunch around 2:00 p.m. and the atmosphere was incredible—laid-back, peaceful, and welcoming, with a cozy coastal vibe that made us feel right at home. The view of the bay was absolutely stunning in the afternoon light, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal.
Our waiter, Donovan, was truly amazing. He was attentive without being overbearing, super friendly, and really knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to explain different dishes and made sure we were completely taken care of from start to finish. He genuinely made our dining experience feel special.
We ordered the Parmesan Fries appetizer, redfish with roasted Brussel sprouts, shrimp tacos, and blackberry key lime pie, and every bite was fantastic. The redfish was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The shrimp tacos were fresh and vibrant, with a nice kick of flavor that wasn’t overpowering. And the key lime pie? Absolutely delicious—creamy, tangy, and the perfect finish to the meal.
One thing that really stood out was how great they were about accommodating dietary restrictions. Donovan and the kitchen went out of their way to ensure everything was prepared safely and exactly how we needed it. It’s rare to find a restaurant that takes the time and care to do that while still delivering such high-quality food.
Overall, I can’t recommend Jesse’s on the Bay enough. Between the incredible service, amazing food, beautiful views, and thoughtful attention to detail, it’s truly a gem. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the area, this place is a must. We’re already looking forward to...
Read moreWe visited this little gem of a restaurant on a Saturday afternoon after spending the morning in Fort Morgan. While we did not have reservations we were graciously seated at a 2 top with a bay view. The interior is beautiful and definitely fills the gap for fine dining in this area. I could already tell we would need to return for dinner to get the full effect of the atmosphere and to take advantage of the upscale menu. Our server, Bart, was extremely helpful in guiding us thru his recommendations. We started with the "boutique oysters" which on that day were a half dozen Murder Points served with 2 delicious mignonettes as well as the typical cocktail sauce, horseradish and lemons. Next we followed with the Weekly Tacos, which were fajita spiced shrimp, and the Bourbon Bacon Burger with the hand cut fries. Everything was outstanding. When Bart reviewed the menu, he did point out that several things were not available including the swordfish and the pork chop. This was a little disappointing especially since I had seen a huge chunk of swordfish hanging in the glass case along with some beef that was aging. But maybe those things just weren't being made available for lunch? Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, eating every last bite. And looking forward to a little something sweet or server recommended the daily cheesecake...a cherry cola cheesecake carefully crafted by the chef from a long list of flavors to imitate an iconic drink. Even my husband, who does not like cheesecake, enjoyed several bites of my dessert. We are anxious to return for dinner to try their steaks and seafood along with another...
