Little Mexico — Restaurant in Alabama

NOTE --- my review is for the new Killen, Alabama location located on Highway 72.

There are plenty of similar Mexican restaurants in the Shoals area but In my opinion Little Mexico is the BEST of all of them. Even though the menu selections are practically the same, from Mexican restaurant to the other, the taste of the selections I've gotten here excel above all the others.

A few drawbacks are that they are having some of the usual, expected, newly opened restaurant problems but those will go away. The parking lot is mostly gravel making it more difficult for someone in a wheelchair to access the restaurant but they do have concrete pad parking spaces on the sides of the building.

This place is popular and business is growing and for good reason. People usually flock to the best and Little Mexico is the Shoals best Mexican food. There may be 8 to 10 other, different, Mexican restaurants in the area but each has their own taste and flavor of the way they cook their beef, chicken, steak, seafood and Little Mexico is worth going the extra distance for. Do not recommend! I gave this place another chance based on word of mouth about it "changing owners and being better than it was when it first appeared" I will say food was decent but the price for the food is 100% not worth it even a little bit! Got 2 benjis and a large cheese dip $47 the benjies was 4 inches long 🤦 yall menu states "your choice of beans or rice" when i asked the waitress she said no it doesnt come with it. Ran outt drink no waitress in sight Needed a box no waitress in sight Honestly whole time we were there everybody was sitting in the kitchen not doing anything.... This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. Thats sad to say because Mexican food is my favorite thing to eat. The price for chicken, cheese, and rice with a small guacamole was $15.86. The guacamole contents were not grinded up properly, and there were several large slices of tomato, onion, and whole hearbs that were to bulky. The guacamole also was discolored. The chips were very brittle, and would break trying to dip the guacamole out of the container. I would recommend Casa Mexicana. The same dish with guacamole would cost me $11.78, considering the better quality food. Keep this in mind before visiting here.
