I recently tried the BLT sandwich here, expecting a simple yet well-executed classic. Unfortunately, the sandwich didn’t meet my expectations. The bread, which I assumed would be toasted, appeared untouched and cold. The distribution of ingredients was uneven – one half of the sandwich was lacking in bacon, while the other was overloaded with tomato, disrupting the balance of flavors. The bites I had were mostly tomato and bread, reminding me of a basic sandwich without the satisfying inclusion of protein.

Additionally, the added avocado threw off the proportions even more, making it feel like I was eating a green salad sandwiched between bread. The overall look of the sandwich was underwhelming, resembling something I could easily assemble at home with basic ingredients, but at least at home, I would toast the bread.

For a $23 meal, the sandwich fell short in both presentation and taste. While I am disappointed with this experience, I am willing to give this place another chance and try their breakfast offerings. However, I would advise management to revisit this dish and consider ways to elevate this American classic to justify its price. As it stands, I can’t recommend...

The service here is the worst I have ever seen. We waited 20 minutes for our server before someone from a different section finally came over. 1/2 way through my drink I found shards of glass in the drink. My husband went to the drink counter for help and the person working there did come out to ask if I needed medical attention which was very nice. She got me a new drink and quickly went to where all of the table servers were to let them know what had happened. Not a single server came over to give us the bill so we could leave or check if we needed anything. While I understand that accidents do happen, the response from the table servers was completely unacceptable. I had to get up from the table and walk over to the servers to get our ticket so that I could go home and deal with the fact that I had glass in my mouth. Again, I understand that the glass was accident but servers completely ignoring a customer when something like this happens is not...

Enjoyed having an outdoor lunch spot you could count on in the bay farm neighborhood! Had the eggs benedict (good but on the salty side, potatoes bland), Niçoise salad (good but pricey), lavender latte (bit underwhelming, assumed I wanted a large when I wanted regular size) and full plate of their beignets with chocolate ganache (best dish hands down). Had to wait 30+ min for food, significantly longer than the couple just before us, but it’s their first week. Suggest trying out the outdoor fitness court before sitting down to eat all the yummy food! Will come back to try more...

My Alameda Restaurant Week photography took me to Cafe Jolie Petit, a gem in Harbor Bay and one of the few places to really eat out there. Their excellent service stood out immediately. They now host a Parisian farmers market alongside their limited menu that includes the great Donut Petit donuts. The outdoor area has this fun cargo container industrial vibe that works surprisingly well. It's become a great brunch spot, and it's perfect if you're bringing your bike for a stop during a ride.

This place is a wonderful little oasis on an otherwise nondescript part of the island. A great stop before the ferry, or someplace to getaway from the hubbub of the usual suspects. Go during the week when the kids are at camp or school, and you can have a lovely reprieve from all of the noise, too. They also have a selection of donuts and pastries from their Donut Petit shop, so stay for dessert, or just go for dessert! : )
