Taqueria Promesa — Restaurant in Alamo

My teenage son is a very picky eater. Sometimes that makes it hard to find a good place to go eat. This place was highly recommended by one of my co-workers. And they were not wrong. This place has plenty of outdoor seating. There is also a clean public restroom available for patrons dining there. The staff was friendly and gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to oder the Tacos de Carne Asada and a baked potato (no meat). While we waited we were served chips & Salsa. With each order of tacos came grilled onions, a cup of Frijoles charros,, sliced lemons, and pickled red onions. Wow! Is the word to describe the flavor of these tacos. The meat was so juicy,, well seasoned, & perfectly cooked. Full of flavor in every bite. Just describing them to you is making me want to order more...Our baked potato was big enough for three people to share. We couldn't finish it so I ended taking some home. The prices are reasonable considering the portion of the tacos is big. Not like many other taquerias where they charge the same price but not as full of meat. I will tell you my son ate all his food and that made me happy. Definitely will continue to come...

Lousy food and prices are not transparent. Went there on a Monday with one more person. We both ordered asada tacos. Prices were not listed but assumed prices wouldn't be that high considering location. The taco meat was bland and tough, the tortillas tasted straight out of a bag and not even warmed. Price for 2 orders plus drinks, 30 dlls not including tip, including mystery "service charge".
