This restaurant was open for breakfast & dinner, and we tried both. Jeremiah took care of us at breakfast, and Grace took care of us for dinner that night. Both were friendly, efficient, and made sure we were happy with what we ordered. For breakfast, we could not substitute or add anything not printed with that item on the menu. If we had had to eat here more than once, this would not have have been acceptable. So once was enough, even with good service. We had the skillet scrambled eggs with caribou, bison, and reindeer sausage with sourdough bread and delicious strawberry jam. We also had orange juice and cranberry juice. It was a good breakfast. Dinner was overwhelming - in the proportion of food, not service. Grace was exceptional and made the dinner nicer than the food. Husband had the barbecue wings for his starter (outstanding!) and I had a half Caesar salad (more than enough). He had the 12” McKinley meat pie which would have been enough for both of us. Unfortunately it had a soggy crust (not crisp, the way he likes it) and it was too much food (ate only a couple of slices). I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes (not creamy, but hard) and I asked for no green beans (it would have been too much food). I ate most of the prime rib, but only a bite of mashed potatoes. We couldn’t take any leftovers with us - no fridge and no microwave. We had room for dessert - he had the Oreo Cream Pie & I had huckleberry ice cream. Both were very good! Of the two experiences here, Grace was the best and the starters & desserts were the best!

We went here twice, for lunch and for dinner. Lunch was decent, I really enjoyed the Gourmet Grilled Cheese (the “house made chips“ were a bit burned, though). We also tried the Flatbread, which was great. So, with a relatively positive impression, we decided to return for dinner. However, things went downhill from here. The Reindeer Poutine was still ok, but pretty salty and oily – cheese curds in a poutine are not supposed to be fried. The Cheesesteak Sandwich was easily the worst I’ve ever had – no way was it served with “house made pepper jack cheese sauce”. It rather reminded me of some manufactured Habanero Cheez Wiz that you can buy at the grocery store. Terrible taste and way too spicy (and that’s coming from someone who loves spicy food), you couldn’t taste anything of the meal but this obnoxious concoction of processed cheese. Also, the service at dinner time seemed a bit lackluster and not particularly friendly. Luckily, the dessert, Blueberry Pie, was nice and saved the evening from becoming a total failure.

Late Post Aug 23’ There wasn’t much to choose from at the lodge especially because they said one would have to make reservations in advance. Got the tundra chicken caprese, mixed green salad and the classic Caesar, both were sufficient and good, partner ordered Beer, forgot which one. Our server Ann was nice and brought my sister-in-law ice cream for her bday! Ambiance from their website - Experience 20,320 Alaskan Grill – named for the height of Denali and decorated in mountain-climbing decor with artifacts from actual Denali ascents. Choose from a list of appetizers and entrees that are sure to tantalize your taste buds!

Horrible experience as part of a princess land tour. I wish it could have no stars. First, I want to give a huge thank you and accolades to Miriam, our server in the bar. The only staff member who cared and solved our problem. Thanks to Miriam! The place was packed, and there are not many choices for restaurants here on this resort. Being Canadian, they wouldn't take a phone number to text and call when our name came up on the long waiting list for seating. Told us it would be a half hour wait and we waited in the packed lobby. After waiting about 40 minutes we specifically told the hosts we would wait in the bar, as other patrons were. From the bar, we could hear names as they were called for seating. Not once did we hear our name. And 4 of us listened for it. After an hour waiting, one of our party went to ask why we weren't being seated and he was told they had called our name twice. And we didn't respond..what? So their solution was to put us back on the bottom of the wait list. Again...what? We asked to speak to the manager, Nick, and he really didn't care. Told us everyone was waiting a long time and he just knew they called us twice and we didn't reply. I asked if we could be seated next as the next party of 4 and he said no, we were at the bottom of the wait list. NOT A SINGLE APOLOGY FROM THIS PERSON Or the HOSTS. With no other eating places available, we sat back at the bar where Miriam said she would get us menus and we could order. She fixed the issues in minutes. (Food was not good..salmon incredibly dry). Reindeer meatloaf was good. The manager, Nick, did not even come near us for the rest of the night. Nothing! Unreal. Sorry goes a long way and this guy cared less. We were in that restaurant for 3.5 hours and that was our entire evening so could do nothing else. We kept hearing that Princess was just starting up their tourist season. Not our problem. We paid good money for this trip. I highly recommend steering clear of this place. But, few options with many guests there. If you go, ask for Miriam. Very...

Much better since COVID, probably because there are fewer people travelling.

Before COVID, we had 45 minutes until our morning bus and ... our food came out about 40 minutes later. Others on our tour either went without or were able to get a quick to-go box of something to eat.

AFTER COVID, we sat down, said that we were in kind of a hurry, and our food came out almost immediately! I think that they streamlined their menu so that they were making food based on what was expected and getting it out faster for the breakfast crowd. Lilly gets all 5-stars for getting us in and out with time to spare.

For dinner, the cheese curds were kind of amazing. Very lightly breaded. I'd rather have had an alfredo dipping sauce, due to acid reflux, but they were like little cheese sticks. The spring salad was pretty standard. The pizza was a lot of bread and not particularly crispy, so I ate the toppings, which was just about perfect for me. (Who can eat that much bread/crust?!?) The prime rib was also cooked more like a medium well than a medium rare. We had to request the au jus and horseradish. The horseradish (not the creamy kind) had a kick! The Oreo dessert was amazing. The cheesecake topped with dried blueberries had ... half a blueberry.

While this isn't one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant, the staff was friendly, the food was good for a restaurant set up to serve hundreds a night and make it seem like each person is special. I think they do well with what they've got and what they're there for.

There are TWO Pokemon Go stops within range of...
