Angry Salmon — Restaurant in Alaska

We have been to the Homer area a number of times, and we were excited to see that a new restaurant opened. We visited Angry Salmon twice while in town recently. The first time, we ordered nachos for an appetizer. For meals: salad with chicken, burger, and two seafood pastas. The chicken was a little dry but the meals and the service were pretty decent overall. The manager was very attentive, ensuring our drinks were always replenished. The second time we visited, the hostess was amazingly kind. The server was nice enough but not as attentive. Had nachos for appetizer, but there was far less from the first visit. For meals: chicken wings, steak frites, fish tacos, and seafood pasta. The chicken wings were average at best. The steak frites was ordered medium rare and came out medium well and fatty. The fish tacos were the worst I have ever had. Two fish tacos at MP ($25) were overcooked and had no flavor at all; the slaw just made them worse. Not good in the slightest. (Seriously tasted like something out of the freezer section but burnt). Nice people and environment, but the menu (outside the nachos and seafood pasta) needs some improvement...

Been there 4 or 5 times since they opened. Trying to patronize a local restaurant in AP. The first meals we had (spring ‘24) were fantastic. Since, not-so-much. I have had two of the worst meals I’ve ever had there in successive visits. The first was a bowl of chile. My partner says it was too much turmeric, but my impression was freezer burn. Second horrible meal was prime rib. I ordered rare, was told that all they had was med rare. I figured that it had been a little while since the roast had been pulled so it had just post-cooked itself past rare. What I got was a grey piece of meat that was well into well-done and approaching dead. Went back again last night and just had some apps and a cocktail. Cheese sticks were cheese sticks, but the nachos we got to go were less than tasty.

We really have tried to give this place some business in hopes that a business could survive here in Anchor Point, but at this time I...

Decided to try and give these new place a chance for my wife's birthday. Walk in and its trivia night,bartendersays seat your self. So we go and get a seat and watch football. We waited 15 minutes while the waitress looked at us a total of 5 times and looked away not being busy at all serving anyone anything. I get up and ask the bartender if they are serving food that night and he says yes. Told him we'd been waiting abit and he did say he was sorry and asked where we were sitting. Said he didn't notice us( waitress did though) and he was the one who told us to seat ourselves. One chance and they blew it. Over priced bar food with terrible customer service. I will not be back ever nor will I ever recommend...
