We took a water taxi(which was a great experience) and arrived at our destination to find we had a decent walk to the lodge in front of us. While I normally wouldn’t mind, I was dressed for dinner, not walking down long gravel roads. The option of a pick up service via side by side would be a nice addition! We arrived to the gorgeous restaurant and were originally seated at a table in the middle of the room next to a fake grass wall, right by the bathrooms. We requested to be moved and our waitress moved us to a tiny table in the corner with no view. We were very disappointed by this as a view with dinner was our goal! We were a party of two, so that may be why, but other parties of two were seated at larger tables with great views. The seafood chowder was one of the best I’ve had. Full of flavor and had lots of seafood, but it was a bit gritty in a few bites(sand from clams/shrimp?) this was slightly off putting. We got dessert to go as we were so full. We ordered one of each of the two options. The desserts going out to eat there were a good size, the ones we got to go were way smaller than the ones we saw going to tables. With that being said they were also delicious especially the carrot cake! Just wish there was more consistency between to go and for there. The cocktails options were fantastic, and the bartender was kind and personable. The food was absolutely delicious, all the way from the Brie appetizer, to the seafood chowder to the ribeye dinner. Everything was seasoned wonderfully, and had no need for salt and pepper. The view was incredible and the deck was a nice place to sit and take in the view with a drink...
Read moreJust getting to the restaurant set the tone for the whole evening. The appetizers were to die for. We had the pesto and goat cheese flatbread, and the Halibut cheeks. Order both; they are delicious! I had decided that I didn't like Halibut cheeks previously, but the Meandering Goat changed my mind. The coconut crust was crunchy and just thick enough, the horseradish fruit sauce was amazing. I would eat anything dipped in that sauce. The bartender has crafted some delicious drinks. I recommend the Blackberry smash. My Halibut main course was a decent size, but I didn't love the eggy coating. The steak was juicy and so big that it couldn't be finished. Our vegetables were too under done, but the fingerling potatoes and wilted greens were delicious. We ordered the carrot cake to go because we were stuffed. That was the best carrot cake I have eaten in my whole life. I wish we had gotten three or four to go. Seriously their pastry chef needs a raise! The peaceful boat ride to and from the restaurant is peaceful and made us feel quite special. We will definitely be back. Hopefully the Halibut will be seared or grilled without egg next time. Once your boat arrives they drive you in...
Read moreI wanted this to be an exciting, unique adventure, but it fell below expectations across the board. Expected the taxi ride out to be interesting, but the captain didn't say a single word to the group on the ride out. Got a nice greeting and nice walk up to the beautiful restaurant with a great view. The food was all very good, but beyond ridiculously expensive. $46 for 5 quarter sized scallops with a tiny salad is just embarassing. All of the food was good, but just way overpriced. The drinks were probably the highlight of the meal. Again on the ride back, the captain didn't say a word, no looking for whales, etc. Ended up being almost $300 with dinner and water taxi. It has the potential to be a super unique amazing experience, but fell well below that on our visit. Would not...
