Walking into the restaurant took me back to the 1970s. Formica tabletops, drop ceiling embedded with bright spotlights, large slatted faux wood blinds, and a pie case just inside the door. I expected the food to be good, and was not disappointed. I ordered the Eggs Benedict special for $9.99. It came with a large portion of hash browns that had a little crunch without being overdone. I took a star off of service, because I asked the waitress if it came with a side, and she said she didn't know. I asked her who would know, and she left for a little bit, then came back and said she thought it came with a biscuit. I asked her again if she could find out for sure, and she finally came back and said hash browns. I should not have had to push her repeatedly to get an answer. I have had Eggs Benedict in many restaurants, and this was the best! It came with a thick slice of ham steak, and the eggs were perfectly done, soft but not undercooked. The hollandaise was just the way I like it. So often the hollandaise has so much lemon it overwhelms all of the other flavors, but this had just a little bit of that lemon tang. I would have ordered milk or orange juice, but the drink prices were very high, in my opinion. I just couldn't see spending $3.79 for a glass of milk, so I had water instead. I would come back again and again!

The place was very dirty. The good thing about the place was our waitress was very nice and friendly she gets 5stars. The food was okay. We got children's chicken strips and to me they were not good at all. He took as single bite and that was all. Of the fries he loved those and they disappeared pretty quickly. I got the golden miner burger. It was okay. Was not good but was not terrible. Wife got the ruben. If you love sour krout (sp) you will like this sandwich cause it is loaded. They Pile on the beef only problem was that the sandwich was not hot all the way throughout.

This is a really good small town highway dinner. They have a big menu, the staff was really friendly, & the food was really good. They have daily specials & pie in the dessert case that you walk by when you walk in the door. I got the chicken fried steak which came out completely covered in gravy & they served real mashed potatoes with it, not instant. My wife got the Turkey Club which had actual chunks of turkey breast, not just store deli meat. The breakfast looks great & I'll definitely be back to try that out sometime soon!

While staying at a resort close by someone in town recommended this place to try. Besides everyone starting at us (my daughter & her wife are an interracial couple) when we first pulled up we delt with rudeness as soon as we walked in. Yes we should've just left then

The waitress who was supposed to sit us - just pointed to our table - wouldn't tell us the specials but told us they was by the door on a board (I had to go take a picture to show the table). Messed up out water order & got pissed about it. We all 5 ordered water but one person wanted lemons in the water - she brought lemonade. Them she passed us off to another waitress. Which honestly was the best thing. She was amazing..!! At this point we got to see the other one shine as she sat people & was extra friendly with the locals.

The broasted chicken was very good as were the broasted potatoes. The hot turkey was ok but lacked seasoning & the chicken alfrado ended up getting sent back because it didn't taste right. My granddaughter wouldn't eat the chicken strips but the fries were a hit.

When we asked to talk to a manager we was told there wasn't one there & they didn't know what DAY one would be for us to talk to.

I will NEVER...

Very large portions and reasonable prices. I had the jumbo pork tenderloin sandwich and the tenderloin was truly jumbo. It was the size of the plate, easily enough for 2+ sandwiches. It was also not the frozen prebreaded tenderloin. Not living in Iowa anymore, I miss getting a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich occasionally. Plus with the deluxe plate you get soup and fries (or small upcharge for certain special substitutions) in addition.

Ordered food from the kids menu for my children. My oldest daughter doesn't get enough food in the fast food kids meals. She had leftovers at the end of our meal here. And our waitress was super helpful with her. My daughter ordered the omelette and thought the pancake that would come out with it was the "Mickey mouse" pancake. We tried to explain it was just a regular pancake since she had ordered the omelette. The waitress overheard and made sure she got the "Mickey mouse" pancake instead.

Children's grandma was with us and ordered from senior breakfast menu. Portion seemed as big as my wife's from regular menu.

Everyone had leftovers and quality was good for reasonable prices. Plus staff was super helpful...
