Dairy Creem — Restaurant in Alexander City

It was my first time ever yesterday and the food was amazing. I am addicted already. The price is really amazing for the amount of food you get. I had the hamburger basket and corn nuggets. I highly recommend it. The lady who took my order was very friendly as well and I loved the atmosphere. Also, for those with a shellfish allergy such as myself, good news! They do use a separate fryer for their fish, chicken, and fries. It's all prepared separately so people with food allergies such as myself CAN eat there and be safe. That brightened my day and put them high up in my books for one of the best places to eat here in town. The food was even more amazing than the news and it was so good. The burger is cooked perfectly and it's not dry whatsoever like most places. The fries are not anything special but that's totally fine for those with palates that can't handle too salty of food at once (like mine). The item I enjoyed most was the corn nuggets. Might’ve been awesome back in the day, but this well-known and loved Dairy whatever…now sucks. Disappointed to end this foodie stop which was my go to weekly for over a decade, but never again. I’ve had way too manys “okay it was a bad day for them maybe next time”- Chicken fingers are now made to be used as weapons. Throw, shred, implode. Never effected. Never change shape. Pretty interesting actually. The Hamburger steak gravy, now ladies and gents comes from a can, or some sort of bag. If your “homemade” gravy tastes like the smell a pool float, not sure I want to consume it. Sad day to say, your coleslaw. Ugh! Whatever you did you screwed it up. So good luck to those that go for the ‘old dairy creem’. The one we used to love. It ain’t there. The laziness in the food preparation is expressed way to obviously now. The actual food here is just okay. The shakes are good but nothing to make a special trip for. Unless you order ice cream or a hot dog, expect a really long wait. Today we ordered a chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger and waited more than 30 minutes. It's like that everytime we order something other than ice cream. The fries were cold and soggy and we only had a 10 min drive home, so they couldn't have been fresh. The worst part is that while we were waiting, we had a chance to see how many flies were inside where the food was being made (also trapped between the window and their inside signage) It was so gross. I really want to like this place and we keep trying it out every few months, but I think this will be the last time for me. Oh and my chicken sandwich was made wrong also.
