I’ve had food from The Little York twice recently. The first time I had a smash burger and sat by myself at the bar. The burger was awesome and the servers were very friendly, so I was excited to try another meal. This time I picked up a chicken parm and fries to-go. I’m sure the to-go element of the dinner caused some of the problem, but the food was not kept warm at all and the sandwich really creeped me out. It was a gigantic, barely breaded piece of rubbery chicken. In my opinion, chicken parm should be made with thinly pounded, tender cutlets that are battered, fried and very crispy. This was the opposite of that.

Anyway, the burger was so good that I’ll go back for that, but I would never get the chicken parm or any other chicken dish.

On a separate note, the restaurant does not share their WiFi password with patrons and there’s virtually no cell reception. In 2023 you cannot have a bar in an area with barely any phone service, like Little York, and not have WiFi available to customers. Not a particularly welcoming or safe policy.

Update 3 Months Later: Downgrading my review to 1 star. Ordered a large pie half plain, half pepperoni, well-done. Was awful. Bland, greasy and very expensive. I asked for a well-done pie and it tasted as though it was nearly raw dough that was cooked in a microwave. All of the cheese was separating under pools of grease, the sauce had no flavor at all and the whole thing was essentially uncooked. I will not be going back to the...

What an experience! This restaurant was JAM packed with such fantastic staff! My best friend and I came in to this restaurant for some drinks on a Friday night and they did NOT disappoint! We were able to get seats at the bar pretty quickly and had a view of the team doing the most! The love that poured out of the kitchen was evident. The staff was all smiles and it felt welcoming consistently through our experience. We took a moment to try a couple of their deserts as well. Their ice cream sandwiches are next level… they make it all from scratch and you can TASTE the love they put into everything they make! The cookie was crisp at the edges but chewy in the middle. It was the perfect consistency to enjoy with a generous dollop of vanilla ice cream! They also had an impressive (or should i say espresso-sive) espresso cake. The plate was garnished a way you wouldn’t expect from a small town spot! They really raise the bar here with expectations! Looking around, you could tell everyone felt right at home. Restaurant was beautifully lit and the noise level was assuring that everyone was having a blast. I’m thankful for my experience here and you BET my best friend and i will be back! (Seriously don’t sleep on their deserts! There’s...

The owners of this adorable old town restaurant have done a beautiful job with their renovations. The decor is beautiful and elegant. When you go you need to plan to go early as they do not take reservations (personally I wish they did), and the restaurant is at full capacity within an hour after opening.

I have been going to the Little York for years when it was The Little York Tavern and now with it being The Little York. The new owners have blown the previous restaurant out of the water. The only thing that is the same is the wonderful delicious pizza.

They believe in fresh local food from farm to table. The steaks and hamburgers are not only fabulous, but so reasonably priced.

I recently had the short ribs that came with real homemade mashed potatoes that were creamy and delicious. The rib meat just fell off the bone and was so tender and flavorful and a beautiful presentation.

The menu and specials are always something a little different that is totally well worth price.

I almost hate giving this review because this has now become one of our favorite places to go and kind of want to keep this jem to myself.

All kidding aside, they are truly a beautiful and delicious addition to the tiny little hamlet of...

The Little York was recommended to us on a recent trip to Upper Black Eddy, PA. They caught our attention with their specials, so we decided to give them a try. I'm so glad we went! We started off with their apple walnut salad, which was big enough to share, and the beef short rib and potato soup. It was the best combination for such a cold fall day. The smash burger was juicy, flavorful, the fries were crispy and seasoned well, but the chicken thighs with charred pineapple... OH MY GOD. I substituted the potato for the broccoli and I was so happy I did. Every bite packed a ton of flavor and everything was cooked perfectly. Sadly, the thighs were on the menu with the specials, but I surely hope they will consider cooking them full time. It was definitely worth the drive over the bridge! Moving on to desserts, what do we do when we can't pick between two of them? We get them both, of course. We had the pumpkin tiramisu and the bourbon peach pie. I'm not a huge fan of whipped cream but theirs tasted really fresh! Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Good food, good people. Just wish they were closer to us so we would visit more often.
