Leaf Valley Mercantile Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Alexandria

My wife and I normally sit at the bar because it is just the two of us. The last time we were there there was live music, and nearly every seat in the house was filled. Other patrons at the bar at the bar are friendly and considerate. There were several single seats at the bar but no open pairs of seats together. Patrons noticed the two of us were standing by a single open chair. They passed the message down the bar and a whole group of strangers, moved down one seat, making room for the two of us to sit together. I thought that was pretty cool. The waiters and waitresses acknowledged us even though they were really slammed. They got us drinks, then came back for our food order. The wait time was not unreasonable, and we felt we were given attention. Everything we have had has been very good. The prices are very reasonable and the music was great. People were having fun, but under control, not interfering with other patrons evening.

Entered the building sat down at a empty table waited 15 minutes before some one finally relized we were there, took another 10 minutes before our order was taken. Took almost a hour for food, the ribeye that i ordered medium was well done and mostly muscle which for 21$ hardly seemed worth it and i was not about to wait another hour for it to be fixed, the chicken was barley cooked and was like eating a tire. The waffle fries were not cooked either, one fry was still cold. We then waited 15 minutes before they came to ask if we wanted our check, we asked for our check and a box. 10 minutes later we finally got the check, no box. Box came a couple minutes later. We finally got to pay and leave. Would not recomend going here unless you have patience.

March 29th, 2025. We walked in with a party of 8 on a Saturday evening, just simply looking for a few rounds of beers and to just chill... Well, the first thing that was said to us by one of the waitresses as we walked in was "you need to get the hell out of the way or leave" while we were looking for a table. Even though it was busy we would have GLADLY stood around, drank, and enjoyed the entertainment, but the vibes we got from the staff was enough to make us walk out as soon as we got in. The sad part was is that we got recommended the establishment as it was described as a friendly and welcoming environment.
