We rented the party room for a Sunday. I was told by the lady owner the day we reserved the date, the amount for the rent was $350.00 for 4 hours and the owner also said they were giving us an hour to decorate. THEY ARE NOT GIVING YOU ANYTHING. YOU PAY FOR 4 HOURS AND THE ONE HOUR THEY CLAIM TO GIVE YOU, IS ACTUALLY COMING OUT OF THE 4 HOURS YOU PAID FOR. I also asked when the AC would be turned on, the lady owner said about 15 minutes before event. Our party was to start at 4pm so we got there around 10:15 am to set up and decorate. Upon arriving with all our stuff, the owners husband and two plumbers were there trying to figure out where all the water was coming from. There was a pipe and a valve leaking water from a wall. About 20 minutes of standing and listening to them talk back and forth, meanwhile were standing there with our stuff and wondering if we're even gonna be able to still have our party AND REMEMBER TIME IS BEING DEDUCTED FROM THE HOURS WE PAID FOR. Owners husband said leak and bathroom would be fixed by 2pm. He was sweating and said it was too hot so he turned on the AC. He left and we proceeded to decorate and set up. We had to pick up all our table linens on the side of the leak before leaving due to the water traveling all the way to the glass doors that lead outside. We came back at almost 3pm to look and check on the last details before our party started. Guests started arriving at 4 pm. A couple of us left to freshen up for the party, around 4:15pm, I got a phone call from our Co-host that the AC had stopped working. Charros closes for the day at 2pm so there was no one to call and I was given no number in case if an emergency. I walked across the parking lot to the meat market in hopes that maybe the places were owned by the same owner, and they are. The cashier sent over another employee. By almost 5:15pm the AC was back on and cooling down the room. There are 8 tables for guests that seat 8 to a table. We had every table full of guests, sitting in the heat, no air circulation and kids sweating with red cheeks. It was so embarrassing to see guests using their plates as fans to cool down. I don't know if they have their AC system governed, but one can only assume. I find it odd that the AC was off for almost hour. The same amount of time it took for us to decorate. The lady owner made it very clear that the AC would be turned on minutes before the party, it's not our fault her husband turned it on himself because he said it was too hot in there. When the party was over and it was time to clean up, we had to try to cram it all down one small trash can. We will never return nor recommend anyone booking an event here. It's just not worth it. AND IF YOU DO DECIDE TO BOOK THIS PLACE, PLEASE SAVE YOUR RECEIPT! WHEN I WENT TO GIVE THE SECOND HALF OF PAYMENT, THE LADY OWNER DIDN'T EVEN HAVE US ON...
Read more1st & LAST time ever going there! On Thursday evening I went to go enjoy dinner with family, I ordered the beef fajita quesadilla plate and the beef fajita was tough to chew, rice is dry and bland, and c'mon CHARROS! It's the name of your restaurant so I ordered charro beans! They were disgusting 😆 🤣 😂 seriously! Change your name to OVERCHARGE because get this!! I ordered my daughter's carne guisada taco with "poco gravy" and they brought me a gravy on the side!! I explained to the waitress who pretends to not understand English that I didn't want white gravy! She said ok not to worry (in Spanish). Then we ordered the beef quesadilla plate! It didn't come with pico de gallo or sour cream, so we asked her thinking she forgot it.
They charged me $2.50 (3X) (gravy which we told her she misunderstood me when I asked for "poco gravy" on the carne & the quesadilla shows on the menu that it comes with sour cream & pico!!
I had paid and then asked for the itemized receipt when I was leaving because it was almost $40 for 2 plates, 1 cg taco, & 1 sweet tea! Plus I had already left a $10 cash tip on the table when we got up to pay & those little vultures went to go grab the tip right away! I would've taken it back because they didn't refund me at least for the gravy that we didn't even touch! Which BTW, everything was just awful, huge bulky chairs everywhere & I thought it was going to be good because it was a little busy! I WAS WRONG!!!
HORRIBLE SERVICE (went through 3 different waitresses who all were very rude and the one who didn't understand English, I told her in Spanish too!)
Crowded & loud atmosphere!
THE FOOD WAS just NOT very good. Rated lowest I could!! Wish I could rate 0 stars because that's what they honestly deserve!!!
If this is all you have to go to in that small town for Tex-Mex food, I feel sorry for yall.
NEVER AGAIN!!! I've said my piece! I'm out!!! I'd avoid at all costs & even suggest TACO BELL for more authentic Mexican food...
Read moreI can’t believe we’ve lived in Alice for seven months and not tried this place. It didn’t come up on any Google recommendations even though it’s only 13 minutes from home. The breakfast parrillada was absolutely amazing. Rich with flavor and sizzled perfection in that hot cast iron plate. The tortillas are huge and very authentic and delicious. Our server brought us a habanero salsa for the eggs. Wow! Awesome flavor. Astounding heat. Not for the weak! But highly recommended. The michelada may be the best I’ve ever had. This must be a homemade recipe to be that good! I wish I’d taken some photos but we will Definitely be back. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable and everyone is friendly. Highly recommend this casual authentic...
