Totally would not recommend! Went there with another couple for the first time. We received our drinks & appetizers. Then about 1 hour went by with no food while other tables around us who came after us were eating. Waiter told us they were "busy". When he finally brought the food a whole 1 1/2 hours after we arrived we complained & the waiter told us that he puts in the order & has no control, since he doesn't "cook the food". He was totally arrogant. The owner came over to the table at our request & he gave us a flippant apology & also said they were busy. We told him the waiter was arrogant & he said he would give him a "scolding" in a very arrogant manner. My friend told him how other tables got food before us who arrived after us. He then said OK, I'll give you a drink. My friend said that we didn't want drinks (since we were driving a distance). He then said I'll give you dessert & we said that we don't eat dessert, but we would appreciate something off the bill. The owner then said that's all I can do for you & then walked away. Considering the place was packed & the food a bit overpriced, I don't think it would have cost the owner anything to give us some money off the check, but he refused. I will never go there again & would never recommend this place to anyone. As far as the food was concerned, the fried calamari was excellent. The veal scalloppini was good, but the veggies with it were hard. They gave 1 piece of bread on a place that was cold & hard by the time we got our food. With so many other great places to go & eat, I would totally forget this place. They obviously don't care about their customers, which is very important to me when dining in...
Read moreThere’s no way these recent reviews are genuine, I’m sure this WAS great but now?! Hell to the no. Absolutely disgusting. We waited all day, not eating, to come here. Mixed drinks? Not strong, too sweet and could not finish them. Lobster ravioli and roll? Wegmans sushi is better and cheaper, ravioli can be bought from the refrigerated section of Costco and throw in some dishwater with cream and tomato sauce... you won’t tell the difference. Short ribs, no flavor, tender though and served with a “reduction” of dishwater and tomato paste. Mash potatoes were ok. We don’t waste food and grew up eating much worse than this but at least that trash we ate growing up didn’t call itself a bistro and was cheap. The drinks were tossed though, they were not drinkable. I personally would never go here again even if you paid me to come and the staff looked like they wanted to jump off a cliff. I’ve been burping dishwater since I left. I’m not exaggerating.. tasted like straight up dirty dishwater. Don’t believe me and you like to make horrible gambling decisions? Come here anyways and double back to let me know the verdict, I’ll give you $20 if you can tell me with a straight face that this slop is good. I’m not sure what’s worse, working here or eating here. I’m going to go with eating here because you’re the one actually paying for this horrendous mess. Half the tables were wobbling, outdoor heaters half of them were not working and it smelt like decay inside. Someone needs to bring kitchen nightmares to this place because that’s exactly what it reminded me of.
Restaurants in the area are seriously lacking but this was probably the biggest...
Read moreLoved Mattar's! We went here on a late Sunday afternoon to celebrate a couple birthdays. I called a few days in advance to book a reservation and requested outdoor seating. The hostess was extremely friendly and was very helpful in answering my questions regarding the menu.
The location is very easily accessible and beautiful. The outdoor area is so comfortable and perfect for the warmer months - I'd choose to dine outside here any time it's sunny, it's so nice! We were on a covered deck area (with lighting and ceiling fans) though there is also a patio area as well. Our server was very prompt and attentive throughout our meal which is not always something you can expect when dining outside, so definitely a nice surprise.
We had 7 adults and two little ones in our party. All dishes were outstanding. I personally had the shrimp and scallop risotto. It was so creamy and melt-in-your-mouth good, such a great dish for any seafood lover. Others in my party had some pasta dishes, the meatloaf, and steak options. We didn't have a single unhappy camper at our table! The cocktails were great too. Price was unbelievably reasonable for the quality of food, cocktails, and service. We were also able to bring our own birthday cake and the staff was gracious enough to adorn it with candles since we forgot our own and join us in singing happy birthday.
We had a lovely time and will definitely be back....
