Sweetie's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Allegheny Township

Giving 2 stars because my family loves the ice cream, but the service it terrible. Every time we come we order the same thing. A peanut butter shake w chocolate ice cream and a medium swirlie w Twix, sprinkles and cookie dough made with chocolate ice cream. Every time they make them with vanilla and I have to send it back to be remade. Again tonight the same thing happened. I returned the peanut butter shake and watched as the girl made the swirlie w vanilla. I watched her dump the top half out with all the toppings I requested and add chocolate soft serve to the top. They didn’t add any additional toppings nor did they reblend it. I asked her if they accidentally made it with vanilla too and she said “yeah but it was an easy fix, we just added chocolate and chocolate milk… what?! That’s not what I ordered tho. I was polite and just took what she gave me because the line was so long and I already sent one thing back. I can understand an occasional mistake bc they are so busy… but every time? Then this? Overall, having a nice, refreshing ice cream dessert at Sweetie's is a pleasant experience on a warm, muggy, summer evening.

The flavor selection is extensive. Quality ice cream. Best yet, for example, this time I ordered their cheesecake dessert and they do not go skimpy on the cheesecake (or other condiments). If anything, they may go a little too much, but that's OK!

This may seem critical, but nonetheless an issue. They never seem to have napkins available (or at least the times I go there have never been any). I'm in the practice of putting napkins in my car's glove box in hand.

I would rate this place 5 stars but I am giving it a 4 only because the last time I went I ordered a reeses blizzard kinda thing and I probably sound crazy for saying this cause who doesn't like extra toppings!!? But I had more toppings in my cup than I did ice cream and the toppings were fairly big compared to what I've ever had in a blizzard before. Other than that the ice cream is very good & so is the service. They have a nice little area to sit down and enjoy your ice cream also. Its also a good place to go if you have kids.
