I was on a solo motorcycle day ride, and just in time to feed my hunger appeared Aunt Mabel's By The Way Cafe! I adore small independent restaurants, and was pleased with the whole place: the atmosphere, cleanliness, servers, cook, coffee, and I got the country fried steak stuffed omelette (the small version) which was as big as the plate and a side of rye toast! I was so glad that I stopped. My server (sorry I can't recall her name) was so kind and open to talk, and then I met Vera who was sitting in the booth across from mine with her son. Read moreWhat a great gem! I love these small town restaurants. They can't be beat!! It's definitely an amazing omelet. The ROUTE 30, what a great one to have!! All of their omelets, eggs, hot cakes, French toast and etc. sound and I'm sure are the bomb as well. So if you're ever out and about looking for a great place to have some breakfast food, stop in and check them out.
