My wife wanted to visit after seeing a recommendation on Grkids dot com. We arrived on a Wednesday at about 4:30 in the afternoon. We seated ourselves in the middle of the dining room (My wife, our 4 year-old daughter, 2 year-old daughter, infant son, and me). After a few minutes we were brought menus by a host. Our “server” (I think she was our server) came and took our beverage order. Shortly thereafter, our beverages arrived. At that time we placed our food order, which included a lemonade for our daughter’s kids meal. That was the last time our server came to our table.
So far, there were no coloring pages or kids’ amusement of any kind. No one asked if we needed a booster seat for our kids (we probably didn’t, but you’d think they’d ask).
We didn’t time the wait for the food (we’re not that table), but with nothing for three kids to do, a longer than average wait for a hotdog, two burgers, and nachos wasn’t exactly “kid friendly”. As we waited one of the employees was hanging with some friends (possibly other employees, but I never saw them working, so I don’t know) in front of us. Two of those friends were puffing on E-cigarettes during our wait. The man who I know worked there (started hosting at 5:00), said nothing to them about it. I know that’s still legal in MI, but it isn’t close to my definition of “kid friendly”.
Eventually our food was brought from the kitchen by an employee we only saw once. No lemonade in sight. It was a while later when what I assume to be a manager stopped by to check on us. He barely slowed down as he walked by our table, but I did get a chance to ask for our daughter’s lemonade. To which he replied, “Another lemonade. Sure!” I know he didn’t know, but really. We were 40 minutes into our visit, still waiting for my 4-year-old’s drink.
Several minutes later he came back to explain that the box had run out and they’d have it out to us shortly. Almost ten minutes later, we see the box go by our table from the kitchen to the bar.
By now we needed to leave. Our server never asked if we needed a refill, needed extra napkins, or even had bothered to explain why we couldn’t get a lemonade.
My wife had to go to the bar to ask for the check. And while I took the three kids out to the car, she finally got the lemonade.
We left almost exactly an hour after we arrived. Which is fairly average, but with as few people who were dining, was a surprise to us that we’d be forced to rush to our next stop.
Perhaps we set the bar too high for “Kid Friendly Brewery”, maybe that's a totally different scale than “Kid Friendly Restaurant”. While everyone we spoke to there was generally friendly, the food was great, the service was far below what we assume is the...
Read moreDisaster Dinner" we went for the No Rules pairing dinner on Friday May 3. When we got there we were told we couldn't set together as a family and had to set with strangers and there was only 4 seats left. This could have been avoided had they provided enough room for the pre-paid customers. We were a family of 6. Why would we want to sit with strangers anyway. We had been looking forward to this meal every since it went on sale and we bought tickets the day of the sale. we had to of been one of the first to buy. The Snotty little waitress was smirking and very nasty about it and repeated said she didn't care and we should just leave if we didn't like it. WOW! What a little "B---H" I'm just being nice about it. The Manager never showed her face and cowardly had the bar tender do his or her talking. We never recieved an appology or a comp for anything just hey its not your day so screw off go eat somwhere else. Being friday we stood outside and tried to make reservations else where but everthing was booked for at least another hour. These people were absolute "S---H---DS". I'm not a fan of there beer anyway but there Porter "NO RULES" is top notch. Shame I have to give it up I spend $300 or $400 a year on it. But I will never return to this brewery again. Very Classless people. The Bar Tender tried to defuse the situation but once he found out there wasn't enough seats left he turned into a complete "D---H---D". And told us it wasn't his problem and that we should take it up with the company (OZNR) they hired to organize the function. To which said why can't you just add another table and he replied that they wouldn't do that. No acception? I demaned our money back and was becoming very irrate especially after the embarrassment and humilliation that my family just endured in front of the seated folks . I'd say we are a well off family financially and were dressed in dinner attire. But to see how they had the customers seated in a small cramped corner of the outdoor awning portion of the resturant looked very uncomfortable and unprofessional anyway. The way this dinner was presented was casual yet profound and the chef was going to prepare and excellent dinning experience. I can't comment on the food becuse we didn't get a chance to try it. For the cost I hope the people that were there had a good meal. I would give a "NO STAR" rating but the NO RULES PORTER deserves a star as for the staff they can kiss it where the sundon't shine! Excuse my vulger but I just could'nt discribe it or them...
Read moreI don’t even know where to start but this experience needs to be talked about; if I could give 0 stars I would. My family and I had scheduled a reservation ahead of time for a wedding party, my brother was actually the groom. We arrived and the door was propped open to the garage seating area where our party would be hosted and we were invited inside. The party was all set up and the guests arrived, we were greeting one another when a bigger guy with brown hair and a beard storms in our private party and starts yelling at us for entering through the door they had propped open for us initially. We explained that we were invited in through that door by workers and we just wouldn’t use it again, our apologies. He kept screaming about how it was an emergency exit and he would give each and every one of us a $500 fine. Also, how he would shut our party down instantly when we had already agreed and apologized when we clearly had no idea. Then this man proceeded to get in the faces of the guys involved in the wedding party about a door, literally a door. The way he was yelling in our private party that was certainly not cheap and swearing up a storm in front of guests including the bride & groom who were just trying to enjoy their special day, grandparents and even children. It was completely unacceptable and honestly quite terrifying. I understand that it is hard to find good help right now as I am a manager as well but this brewer has got to go. Seriously who behaves like that when we had no idea and even apologized for something we were unaware of? We planned the wedding party here because we thought it was such a unique place we would have lots of fun at but our night was completed ruined. Certainly will be sharing our experience and not recommending...
