After enjoying my second St. Paddy's day at Johnsons Corner, I figured it was time to write a review. I can't believe I haven't sang their praises earlier. Some folks would consider Johnsons Corner a dive bar, but I think it is a good old fashioned neighborhood bar with great food. They are known for their delicious, Pork Tenderloin Sandwich which is one of my favorites. Another meal they are popular for is, St. Patrick Day Corned Beef. They are so popular on St Paddy's that folks are waiting outside their door before they open at 10AM. The corned beef is flavorful and is served with cabbage and boiled potatoes. Of course you gotta have a glass of Guinness. They have other craft beers if Guinness isn't your thing. I also recommend them for, Catfish Strips and Crinkle Fries during Lent. A must order, is their Onion Rings. If you are dining with friends, order them as an appetizer, you'll be glad you did. Oh, they also do Stanley's Pizza which is amazing. I've had multiple different servers and they have always been attentive and friendly. If you're lucky, you'll meet Jimmy the owner, he's a true character and he'll make you laugh.

We were there on Sunday, had the Ribeye baked potato and salad, she had the special chicken fried steak with Mashed potatoes & gravy, carrots. The Ribeye was as good or better than any I've had anywhere. Went back today, Thursday we both had the special BBQ pork steak and cheesy potatoes for lunch. No complaints but I should have had another Ribeye and salad. BTW the crackers and cheese are delicious.

Johnsons Corner is a classic old school kinda place. If I close my eyes I can still imagine everyone smoking & drinking like the ol days in there. Not much has changed & I like that about it. The food is good & so is the service.

Called ahead and took 16 people. They sat us in the front dining room. We were noisy so it was a good place for us so we didn’t bother diners in main dining area. Everything was set up when we arrived. Menus were given to us and I looked it over. There was several good things to pick from. Would I get the catfish and fries? A Lenten special there’s about 8 long strips rolled in probably Andy’s seasoning. Definitely cornmeal based. It was fried perfectly. Flaky white fish. Crunchy on outside. Piles on rye bread and sharing the plate with french fries. The fries were crinkle fries, and they were fried perfectly as well. Accompanying it was a wonderful Italian salad with h fresh veggies. I started the meal with wings h fresh hot coffee and fresh crispy cold water. Finished with Diet Pepsi since they have only Pepsi products. While waiting they provide pub cheese and crackers. Some people had the famous grilled tenderloin. It came with rye also. Some had cod and some had white fish. Don’t know what it was but everyone said it was good. One person had a pony shoe and the cheese fries looked awesome. Have never had dessert here because we’re always full. They do have cold draft beer which I love. Waitress was nice. Was it perfect? No. Cups are plastic. I never like that. Salad came with the meal. Had to wait for condiments, but it was all minor and we loved it and would...

In a time where customer service isn't always the best and many restaurants are so short staffed that customer service suffers ...... well, this is NOT happening at Johnson's Corner! Since April 2020, Johnson's has faithfully delivered hot dinners to my beautiful mother-in-law twice a week - usually by one of their long-time waitresses, Dena. This is not a service they typically provide but because she is home-bound, they have made this a priority. Dena is amazing. We talk twice a week and she helps me decide what would be the best item that day to order for Mom. With Mom's declining health, Dena has adapted her delivery pattern and occasionally will drop off something she made herself over the weekend and wanted to share. Not because she "has to" but because she wants to. Johnson's Corner owners Jimmy & Cathy are family but Dena is now too! Thank you for being an invaluable part of the Alton/Godfrey community and for taking care of...
