Troubadour — Restaurant in Alva

My husband and I recently paid a visit to our friends in Alva (we're from Kansas), and after hearing such great things about The Troubadour, we just had to check it out!

Our server, Kodie, was absolutely wonderful—so knowledgeable about the menu and super fun to chat with. She had the best recommendations and provided us with amazing service.

My husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which came with not one, but two big chicken breasts! It was piled high with all sorts of delicious extras: bacon, a fried egg, grilled onions, jalapenos, plus the usual lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Seriously, that sandwich was HUGE! It also came with some crispy fried okra and the most AMAZING homemade ranch dressing.

I went for the Beer Belly sandwich, which was a mouthwatering combination of smoked brisket, pork belly, and a jalapeno cheddar brat, all topped with coleslaw. I paired it with fries and, of course, that incredible homemade ranch. It was so big that I had to take half of it home!

And get this: everything was under $35 for both of us! We had a fantastic meal, enjoyed top-notch service, and we’re already looking forward to...

Well after sitting at the bar for 25 min I'm still sitting here watching the waitresses on there phones and nobody has said one word to me just walk by with crickets stood at the door waiting to ask to sit at the bar the girl sat on here phone no one word I just wanted a steak and a drink I don't recommend this place at all looks nice but someone need to teach them a bit of how to run things still the entire time I've been doing this review crickets pretty lame ok I don't know why I stayed and even ordered food it eas not great I'd rather take my chances with fast food the Ruben sandwich was soggy and nothing but fat with a taste of char worst one I've ever had had the chicken straps frozen fake meat probably lab grown servers are rude sloppy and lazy mind blowing that such a nice setup is full of lazy slobs that don't give a crap about you so imagine how your food tastes and how safe is it if I get food poison I'll report that the health department should look into this place even the French fies had no flavor and soggy only thing I liked was the cream cheese bacon wrapped...

I’ve went here since it was the Bull. Food was excellent, service was fast, fun, and friendly. Since it’s been rebranded the service is terrible. Most everyone serving now is rude and more concerned about hanging with their friends at the bar or on their phone. The wings are over cooked, the chicken sandwich has came out raw for me, steaks not cooked how you like, salad delivered with the whole meal. You can walk in and sit down at the bar and receive looks from all the servers but they won’t take your order, especially when you sit down at 850 and they wait until after 9 to come ask what you want and tell you the kitchen closed at 9 two minutes earlier and make smart remarks as you leave to go find food elsewhere. I’ve given them so many chances and I won’t waste my money on their high priced food just to watch the cowboy channel with it. ...
