We went there today at noon, after Church. We had less than a 5 minute wait to be seated. Very nice and clean place. There is plenty of room between tables. Great choices on salad bar. Super friendly & kind staff. Waitress was incredible. Great personality. She took our order, and the meal arrived at our table in short order. Even before I finished my salad. She regularly checked back with us ; about 4 times in all, to ask if everything was alright and if we needed anything extra. She kept a good eye on our beverage glasses and returned to refill them in short order. After we finished our meal, we received the check, and I was pleasantly surprised at how low the price was for such great service and food. I thanked our waitress and gave her a well-deserved 30% tip. Shortly after that, a nice lady whom I presumed was the owner came to our table and asked us how we felt about the meal and service. *( I thought that was very special.) We told her the food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and they have a super friendly staff too. We were very pleased. We informed her, ( the owner) that we loved coming there when time permits, as we live in Athens (AL.), and it's a 45-minute drive, that is well worth the drive.

Went on the advice of a friend who lives in Lester. Great place to eat. Price was more than reasonable at $15+tip. Their menu includes seafood choices such as shrimp, scallops, etc. Ordered a medium size catfish filet dinner with choice of sides and trip to the salad bar. As soon as she brought my plate, I told her I was going to need a "to go" box. Don't let the crowded parking lot fool you, there was no wait and the service was friendly and fast. Young lady at the register advised me that Friday and Saturday nights ARE crowded. Sunday after Church can also get busy. Fish and hushpuppies were cooked to order and fresh, not sitting under a heat lamp for three hours. This place is a good distance from home but worth the drive. It's a simple, yet delicious country style dinner served by some remarkable folks who care for their customers. Pardon the half eaten plate, I forgot to snap a photo before I dug into it. Dessert from the salad bar was also included-banana pudding and peaches.

We came through town on a Friday afternoon and stopped in for a late lunch. Imagine my surprise when I found out they had chicken and dressing for the plate lunch special. I will make a special trip back to this wonderful restaurant for this home style lunch. I’ve also had the catfish, which is really good. The salad bar is always fresh and delicious too. It’s worth the side trip off the main road to eat at this quaint place! HOWEVER, they only take checks and cash, so be prepared.

First, let me start by saying that there is a good reason this place averages 5 stars out of lots of reviews: It's great!

The service was super friendly, super fast, and very personable! You get plenty to eat. They start you off with (home made) hush puppies as a free appetizer like you get rolls at other places. Then after you order, you go fill up your salad plate with all kinds of stuff at the salad bar! When your meal gets to you, you're gonna wanna take some home for later because I would be surprised if you finished it. The shrimp is amazing, and the hand breaded chicken is as well.

If that wasn't enough, we found out when we paid that they don't accept credit cards but they were more than happy to trust us to go get cash and come back. I offered to leave half my party with them but they insisted it was no big deal. We came back and tipped them very generously because it was a great experience in a town that seemingly had no where to eat. If we ever visit Alabama again, we'll make sure...
