Roosters Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Anderson

I’ve heard a few great things about roosters. A friend of ours had had a wonderful burger there and decided to take us to dinner on a Friday night to enjoy their prime rib. Sadly, it did not live up to expectations…

Service was terrible! It took forever for them to take our order. We had to ask repeatedly for cutlery to go with our meal. We were happy to receive real silverware while we did see many in the restaurant being provided plastic forks and knives to eat their prime rib with. All meals are served on paper plates as well. One of the people at our table requested an additional glass of wine when her glass was still about a third full. The waitress took the glass from her, not allowing her to finish it and brought her another glass. We were charged for two glasses of wine…What the heck? Our table was not cleared for more than a half hour after we were done eating. By the time the waitress finally came to bring us out check and clear our table, We had stacked all of our plates to get them out of our way and the waitress joked. Oh! You did my job for me. Well, yeah, but you should have done it!

As for the food… All four people in our party ordered the prime rib. They were out of mac & cheese and offered baked beans, green beans, mashed potato and gravy. Food finally arrived after a bit of a wait. Everyone’s prime rib was cold Along with the majority of our sides. The baked beans were clearly out of a can, and the mashed potatoes were instant mashed potatoes. The green beans weren’t too bad.

It was so disappointing. I really wanted to like this gem and have an option to swing by for dinner after work, but sadly we won’t...

I had been delivering Amazon flex packages when I came upon this great place. Since I was really tired, starving and super thirsty I decided to pick up a burger and drink. I'm telling you it was the BEST burger I think I've had in a REALLY long time .. actually ever. The couple taking orders and serving folks are so nice too .. very friendly. I'm looking forward to delivering back up there again in the future so I can stop by again. If you're in the neighborhood and want something really good to eat I highly recommend stopping by Roosters...

I love little gems like this. ROOSTERS is a wonderful little local place with hearty burgers and down to earth staff. Drinks are always ice cold. I love that its tucked away by the Sacramento river. Its like a secret spot to bring people for a no hassle, classic feeling, locals bar and grill. They also have a juke box and a pool table! I heard they do BBQ on Fridays! Definitely stop their for food!...
