The new management at Arnold Chinese food needs to step back and take a reassessment on their business. We went there shortly after they re-opened with new staff. •First - prices are now generally two or three dollars more per item. Two adults 1 four year old and one twelve year old cost $80 ($10.00tip incl.) We had frequented Arnold Chinese restaurant before the closure for five plus years and they were consistent and fairly priced. So we went often... •Second- during our 1st experience, we noticed that the spring rolls were crisp on the outside and soggy on the inside. Pot stickers, bland and doughy (sauce lacking quality taste, as was prevalent prior to new staff). Generally, the main dishes were lackluster. •Today- we tried again... our four year old loves the old pot stickers and I decided to get a to-go order of pot stickers, spring rolls and chicken chow mein. Guess how much? $27.00 +$3.00 tip So thirty bucks for a second try. I called them to let them know that the spring rolls were still soggy on the inside and to please convey this info to the chef as to better the quality of their overpriced cuisine. Plus the potstickers were bland and mushy. The chow mein is tolerable...and we're not picky! We just want to"get what we pay for". I said, "I'll eat it, but it's certainly not worth buying." If you do decide to eat at this restaurant, please let them know what's up. We would love to see this restaurant do well in...
Read moreSolid food and relatively extensive menu for such an unassuming restaurant. Even the name is modestly Plain Jane. We like this restaurant for the following reasons: open later than most restaurants in the area, not salty or greasy food for the type, quick service, good portions and pricing. Family run except during busy time when they may have 1 extra person helping out. Our usual order for 4 people: hot and sour soup, mushu pork with 2 extra crepes, broccoli beef and combination fried rice. This usually gave us some leftover. For 6, order another main such as crispy chicken. Don't order the steamed fish in ginger sauce as the fish is low quality. We're Asian American from the SF Bay area for a point of reference and has been to this place for the past 8 years or so whenever we go to our...
Read moreI haven't been home in a while, so I was happy to see Arnold Chinese still open after covid. I have fond memories of going to lunch with my mom and her coworkers here. The updated menu is delicious and you can't beat the Lunch Special prices! I got the lunch special Hot spicy chicken (comes with veggies sautéed). My mom cannot have gluten so they made beef and veggie soup that she can have (forgot to take a picture, and soup of the day comes with lunch special), and chicken in garlic sauce and mixed vegetables. The serving portion was great! I haven't tried their dinner specials but will...
