What an amazing and friendly cafe in Anita, IA. It must be the epicenter for Anita. The customers were even friendly. I searched for breakfast places, as I was driving on I-80, and Google Maps led me here. The irony is that I was in Iowa storm chasing, and I ate at a place called The Weather Vane. Please stop here on your travels. There's some local Jesse James history near-by too.

We stopped by the Weather Vane Cafe for breakfast during our long road trip across the country. We would definitely return. The food was fresh, expertly cooked and made with love. Our favorite being the sausage patties, what an incredible taste. The service was pleasant along with the locals who welcomed us. The husband and wife team made us truly feel at home.

Amazing food. We were traveling on I80 and it was completely worth the extra 5 miles to travel too. Adorable home country 💖 decor. Nice waitress staff very friendly all around. Wish I had taken a picture of our food but I did. However the Chicken Platter for breakfast was soooooo yummy.

So so so good. The atmosphere is cozy with a wooden-rustic feel, and you can hear the kitchen from your seats. Free wifi, and we were even allowed to plug in our devices (on vacation with little electricity 🥲). Extremely friendly staff who checked in on us very often, and GOOD food. I had the biscuits and gravy with a la carte eggs and toast and they were all SO GOOD. Eggs were fresh, and even so fresh we saw a delivery of a new batch lol. The bathrooms are also very clean, and the women's restroom is very funny (it's like a maximalist woodworker-tilelayer's dream). We had a wonderful time. Thank you...

Was in need of a place to eat as we were heading back to WI. Wanted a hole in the wall type place since what's always advertised on the highway is the same plain Jane places. Came here and was NOT disappointed. Husband had the country skillet and I had the veggie (both with rye toast). One of the best skillets I have ever had. Filling and so well seasoned. Coffee was typical diner coffee but better than most so you'll be kept happy in my opinion....

Breakfast is "impossible" to make after 10:45am. I got there at 10:40am and strained some french toast out of them. It was below average, and my side of bacon was more like strips of saline gristle. My wife said her sandwich was inedible. Indeed, her stomach was empty, but she left her plate full. I wouldn't recommend this dump unless you like it salty or bland and you want to help this state inch out it's obesity rating. Sadly, I've still had...
