This is a dive bar! Not in a bad way, just is by any definition the essence of the term. Mountains of pictures and various memorabilia on every wall. You could spend hours snacking on great bar food, drinking cold beer, and just working your way around the place gathering tidbits of the history. Live local music some nights, check with them. If the Bartender is standing there looking at you seat yourself while you look around like a tourists wondering where the wait staff is, maybe you should walk over, placed your order and get a table order number. This is a new venue and its set up beautifully. Service is good and both food and drink are both on point and reasonably priced. Gar Hole loves live music and for now it looks like they have local musicians on Friday and Saturday. As you can imagine its tough to open a bar during a pandemic but they are doing a good job providing sanitizer and appropriate space for social distancing in this primarily outdoor venue. Katie tended bar and her service was as wonderful as her smile. The owners, Spider, Coach and Jet are fantastic people that treat their watering hole regulars like family. The only reason I give four stars as opposed to five is the drive. I am centrally located in the dfw metroplex and it takes about an hour and a half to get there.

We came here around lunchtime on a Saturday. First thing that happened when we walked in the door was us being greeted by friendly staff and shown how the place works; sit anywhere you like, order at the bar, and food will be delivered to your table.

We had the hamburgers, which you can dress however you like, and I added bacon to mine. The bacon was thick and probably the highest quality I've ever seen at a joint like this. We also ordered fries, onion rings and tater tots. All of it was delicious! Seriously, no notes.

We were politely checked on every so often to see if we needed anything, but between the people watching, popping tots, and sipping suds, we were both doing very well.

All in all, this is a great place to grab a beer & burger and kill...
