Please do not visit this restaurant unless you enjoy poor customer service and very rude management. On my family’s most recent visit for Xmas Eve Dinner, the food service was very slow, to the point that we waited 1-1/2 hrs for our dinner to be served. Now take into account the menu was prefixed, so there should’ve been no reason for such a big delay in preparing the meals. Upon my complaint to the manager on duty, he we was very rude and did not acknowledge that we had waited so long for our food. Instead of recognizing the fault of the kitchen, he said “that he didn’t think we had waited that long”, in essence questioning our complaint. Furthermore, I highlighted that the family just two tables down from us, whom had been seated after us, was already having their main course ( 2nd course) and we were still waiting for ours 1-1/2 hrs since we had been seated. The manager tried to make the excuse the food is cooked to order and that it takes long. But in anyone’s reasonable mind, who would wait 1-1/2 hrs for their food. Additionally, the waitress never came to our table to apologize for the delay or at least inform us the food would be delayed. We were just left waiting almost two hours for our 2nd course. The restaurant was not even completely full, so again no excuse for such a long delay in service.

Additionally, what was intolerable and very unprofessional was that the manager never apologized and then literally he got right up in my face and starting insulting me. He said “that I was making things up about the food being delayed”. Literally the dining room was in full standstill because it looked like a brawl was going to break out between the two of us. He used explicit language in front of me and my family. Never have I ever been treated like this at a restaurant. This manager was very rude, unprofessional and should not be working at such an upscale restaurant. He should be reprimanded and fired. I have been bringing my family here for Holiday Dinner every year, but after this incident and unprofessional treatment I will have...

EDIT: Returned for another visit. As another recent poster stated, the crab cakes were not good at all with shredded crab meat, no lump, and mushy. The meat was more grayish than white. Served with a side of what can only be described as slop which I think was supposed to be coleslaw. Definitely not worth the price. Food has gone downhill over the last couple of years. If looking for a quality crab cake in DTA, try Carrol's Creek.

We spoke to a manager right before we left and she stated there is no lump crab meat in the crab cakes because it is too expensive. She also confirmed they use muffin/cupcake tins to make the crab cakes so they hold together since they do not use any filler (there are patterns of a cupcake tin on the sides of the crab cake). In this case, filler may be helpful to add some flavor to what was otherwise a very bland and not pleasing crab cake. Probably in the top three of worst crab cakes I have ever had. As a life-long Marylander, I've had a lot of crabcakes! Even the manager agreed it was not the typical crab cake she is used to getting in Maryland. Maybe take it off the menu (like you did the rockfish) until you can produce a product that warrants such a high price.

Previous Visit: Atmosphere and service were exceptional. Food is average. I had the Rockfish which is something I order routinely in DTA. The last few times at Severn Inn, it has been EXTREMELY salty which I have not experienced when ordering at other establishments in DTA. My companion ordered a burrito which he stated was really good, but the salsa that came with it was awful to the point we just ate the chips plain. The Brussels sprout appetizer was amazing and the best part...

As has been said the food is good and the ambience is great. That is why my family chose the Severn Inn for Easter Brunch. We had a 12:15pm reservation like many waiting to be seated. We were the first in line but were placed to the side when the hostess began seating others who were lined up behind us. We were told our table was being cleaned. We waited patiently until it was obvious that this was being done on purpose. Was it a mere coincidence that our table was the ONLY table not cleaned. Until we spoke up to ask why our table was not ready and insisted on speaking to a manager did we get seated. The female and male managers were dismissive and unapologetic for the poor treatment our family received. At that point we should have left this restaurant but because it was Easter Sunday and all Family style restaurants in the vicinity were booked solid, we decided to stay. The saving grace was our waitress who unknowingly confirmed that our table was ready for us at 12:15pm and there should not have been a delay. She was attentive and did a good job. If you are wondering, what my point is; my Family is Black! We were the only Black people in the restaurant the entire time we were having brunch! I was truly disappointed that the Severn Inn which is so highly rated is still practicing this type of discrimination. I will make sure I let all my friends of color on social media know that the Severn Inn is selectively welcoming to people of color. They might be ok if you are with white friends/colleagues, but beware if a group of 8 or more Black people come together to the Severn Restaurant! You will probably get the treatment we received. Shame on you...

The Severn Inn offers a picturesque dining experience nestled along the shores of the Severn River, boasting stunning views that complement its delectable cuisine. With an ambiance that effortlessly blends elegance and comfort, it's a go-to spot for both casual outings and special occasions. The menu showcases a diverse selection of dishes, from classic seafood favorites to innovative culinary creations. Each dish is expertly prepared, utilizing fresh, high-quality ingredients that tantalize the taste buds. Standout options include the succulent crab cakes, perfectly seared scallops, and the mouthwatering filet mignon. Despite the culinary excellence, the only caveat lies in the pricing of the drinks, specifically the wine. While the cocktails are expertly crafted and boast premium ingredients, the cost may deter some patrons from fully indulging in the beverage offerings. Service at the Severn Inn is impeccable, with attentive staff members who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to accommodate any requests. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet welcoming, making it ideal for intimate dinners or celebratory gatherings. Moreover, the outdoor seating area provides a serene setting for al fresco dining, especially during the warmer months when guests can enjoy the gentle breeze off the river. In summary, the Severn Inn earns a solid four-star rating for its exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and breathtaking waterfront views. While the drinks may be a bit overpriced, the overall dining experience is certainly worth the investment.

Severn Inn has it’s Sunday brunch back. Easily the best brunch in the Annapolis area. It is perhaps the most expensive in the area, $55 per person, but you get what you pay for. Just visited after a break from the COVID pandemic. Exceptional service. Attentive staff. Excellent food. My server Tisha, was prompt and thorough. Explained the locations of the food - seafood, hot food, and custom made inlets. The oysters on the half shell were clean, delicious, and succulent. They looked like local Chesapeake bay oysters. A mountain of hot crab dip, and large chilled shrimp, along with fresh Tuna, and an incredible desert bar. Omelette arrived piping hot and was well made and infused. Dirty plates were removed promptly and the Earl breakfast tea continually refilled. A trip to the hot bar revealed wings, sausage, bacon and tender beef medallions, which melted in your mouth. Although it was a gray, chilly morning, the view of the Bay, and Naval academy was breath taking. For those who imbibe there was an extensive list of beer, wine and liquor, along with endless Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. The Severn Inn is the best Sunday brunch in the Annapolis area. You won’t be disappointed here. Service, attentiveness, food quality and ambiance. This place has it all. The only thing I’d like to see, would be real log burning fireplaces. Than I will say if I died and went to heaven, it would be the Severn inn’s Sunday brunch.

Great waterside view from my table. Food was delicious First time there enjoyed the brisket and jalapeno deviled eggs. Second time I enjoyed blackened salmon (without the sauce) with asparagus on the side. Jalapeno Deviled eggs were not so good the second time. They were missing the nice jalapeno flavor, just tasted like regular deviled eggs. My daughter started to eat her salmon a little, but didn't finish it and we took it home , but then she didn't feel well from it (possibly the sauce and we looked closer and saw that hers was actually quite undercooked). We called back to complain...spoke to a manager, but they did not refund on her salmon $31 (because it was after we left) . Of course we didn't realize it was her salmon until after we left ...so anyway if you have Any thought about something when you're eating there, you should complain while you're there or you won't get your money back...usually places are a bit more accommodating, I expected better service on that bit from such an establishment ... quite disappointing) Anyway, the 'April Showers' drink was yummy! Pleasant atmosphere sitting by the water.👌
