“WARNING TO ALL DISABLED VETERANS” On Saturday morning(10/8/22) my wife and I arrived at Toast Gio in Apache Junction, with the intention of eating breakfast. We had our emotional support animal with us. A 7lb Yorkie, which helps during emotional challenges much more effectively than any medication. Upon our arrival I entered the restaurant while my wife accessed the outdoor patio from the exterior entrance. I informed the young lady of our presence outside and of our needed companion, along with the service she provided me. No sooner did we receive our menus that the Bartender, an older woman with bright red (dyed) hair, tattoos and a nose piercing. Stormed out and told us “NO ANIMALS WERE ALLOWED” and that we would have to leave. We complied, though confused, given the acceptance of the younger girl, providing us with our menus. On Sunday (10/9/22) we again attempted to allow Toast Gio in Apache Junction, the opportunity to showcase their breakfast. Ironically we were waited on by the same lady that forced us to leave the day before. We put in our orders and patiently waited for our food. During which time we watched this lady service other tables, from order taking to food delivery. All tables seated after us. Needless to say our food came cold and lackluster at best. As we were leaving we made a clear observation of several dogs in the patio area (one a 20+ lbs poodle type and the other an even larger breed) in the company of their owners, whom were all eating breakfast. Neither of these dogs were wearing any type of service vests but were obviously allowed to stay in the company of the owners while they ate. Hoping to avoid a confrontation, especially without the company of my emotional support animal. I waited until after the breakfast rush, to contact the restaurant (via phone) to speak to the owner. I was informed that “she” was on vacation. I requested the manager, was put on hold for an abnormally long wait, resulting in my disconnection from the call. I can’t help but feel that I was targeted. Perhaps due to my military tattoos, or possibly my disability. Hopefully this woman, was responsible for waiting on us (Saturday) and simply felt compelled by her own laziness not to wait on us. Since it would have required her leaving the bar area? Regardless of the reason it definitely sent the wrong message about the unwillingness of Toast Gio, in Apache Junction, to accommodate people in need of support animals. I don’t see myself continuing to patronize an establishment that allows employees to mistreat and dismiss...
Read moreReferrals came highly recommended and after reading the mostly 4&5 star reviews for your breakfast diner, we decided to give you a try on NewYearsDay. Arrived @ 09:30, your dirt parking lot was full and that was a good sign that we came to a good place for bfast. But it’s also a sign that there will be a long wait to be seated & served. Fortunately as we stood in line, we noticed there were a few empty tables. Then when it was our turn to be seated, the host informed us that NO beverages are allowed to be brought in because we serve liquor here. So while they seated my wife, I took our specialty coffees back out to the car. Our special coffees didn’t contain any liquor, we just don’t drink city tap water, nor coffee brewed with city water. No problemo except, our server couldn’t offer us any filtered or bottled water either. Not to mention, the diner doesn’t offer any non-dairy coffee creamers. After reading the overly diverse menu, my wife ordered a scramble with hash browns and I ordered an egg skillet with carnitas. My wife ate half her bfast and had the rest put in a box so she could enjoy it at home with her special coffee. My bfast was tasty looking but, the potatoes looked deep fried from a frozen sack. If I wanted the extra carbs from your oil fryer, I could’ve stopped at any fast-food drive thru for that & paid far less $. And every bite of my bfast was spoiled by a pickled flavor which turned out to be the soggy jalapeño slices that must have come out of a jar. At the prices this diner was charging for just one bfast, I expected the produce would be fresh, not canned or at least, accurately described in the menu. So, yeah my review for your establishment lost a star for serving low quality over-priced food, lost a star for your “no outside beverages allowed” policy and, lost another star for making me walk an extra block thru your dusty parking lot to bring our non-alcoholic coffees back to the car. Don’t bother replying with your apologies, we won’t be patronizing ToastGio again because Denny’s is just down the road and they have a paved...
Read moreMe and my fiancé wanted to come and try something new for breakfast today, So we decided to come to Toast, it has 4 stars and we checked the menu and the food looked good ,so we thought this place was going to be good. When we came inside the restaurant it was really busy so this place must’ve been popular. It took about 10 minutes to be seated which is expected when it’s busy. When we got seated our server took what we wanted to drink and didn’t have to wait that long we got waters an Apple juice coffee and there Mexican coffee it was really good then she came back to take our order it took 30 minutes to get our food, we ordered a Breakfast burrito, French toast, side of hash browns breakfast potato’s sausage links. When we got our food and I didn’t get the sausage we ran out of our drinks the place was extremely hot and uncomfortable our server kept checking on her other tables then us and she kept disappearing as well. she finally came to check on us I told her I didn’t receive my sausage links and she said she would go check on it and just left I didn’t get to ask for water refills 15 minutes later a different lady came and brought the sausage and it was one whole sausage not small links and right when I saw it, it looked raw like it wasn’t cooked and my fiancé took a bite and literally almost threw up he said it was the most foul thing he has ever ate and said it smelt awful I didn’t even want to try it. The server came back 20 minutes later didn’t say anything we just asked for the check we were irritated and mad at this point the server only came to our table twice and she was refilling and checking on her other tables multiple times than us she never asked us how the food was if we needed refills nothing it took her 30 minutes just to grab our card and 20 minutes to bring it back. We didn’t tip the service was absolutely horrible. Overall the food we had was good expect for the raw sausage and the service was horrible. We will not be...
