Stinky's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Aplington

The food was good. Even though we all ate practically separate. The staff was rude. My daughter called 2 times earlier, and no one answered. We got there, and I know they were busy. But, when we got there, there weren't many people there. We waited an hour hour refills and when I went and hunted someone down, I said, "Can we have refills and some steak sauce?" Plus 2 people had yet to get drinks. The woman replied, "we'll do our best. Another 20 minutes later, some got refills. I understand busy, but there is no excuse for rudeness and rude comments. Especially on someone's birthday. If you don't want the business, we could have gone somewhere where they appreciate the business. I don't know if we'll go back. 16 people in our party(8 of them kids), there were 2 other tables when we arrived. We spent over $300 all together, and they wanted an 18% gratuity for bad service. My husband and I was very disappointed last night when we ate there. The waitress was not friendly, We walked in the door and she said we could sit anywhere, so we did. About 5/10 minutes later she shows up and asks for our drinks, then it took about 10 minutes just to get our drinks. About 20 minutes she asks for our order, she didn't even repeat the orders back to us to make sure she had it right. I wanted the Cod Dinner and I got the Baked Cod instead, she apologized for it, but she said she could take it back and get the right order, but it would take a little while, so I told her not to bother, I'll go ahead and eat what she brought me. I’m actually speechless. The kitchen closes at 9pm. We called and they said they would be open. We walked in and we immediately told that the kitchen was closed. I believe it was an owner who looked at me at said, you said you would be here at 8:30. She looks at her watch stares at me dead in the eyes a says, it’s 8:33 the cook said he’s done. They knew we were coming and we drove over here from Ackley to be treated that way. Very disappointed in the leadership and how trashy it has become. Last time we were in There, she asked us if we wanted to buy the bar. I guess that says it all, doesn’t it. They don’t care and it’s a waste of time to go there....
