EMPLOYEES SHOULD KNOW WHAT SERVICES YOU OFFER BEFORE GETTING AN ATTITUDE OVER SILVERWARE Saturday 1/4/25. Placed an online order for a pizza and spaghetti at 5:25pm. Estimated time showed between 5:35 and 5:50pm. Within a few minutes it updated and said ready for pickup at 5:40. I walk in at 5:41pm. Only ONE table with customers. Restaurant was dead. As soon as I walked in I told the young lady I had an online order. Male in red tshirt(a manager I'm assuming). Tells me it isnt ready and offers me a seat. I politely waited. He comes back a few minutes later to tell me my pizza is in the oven. Then another lady comes and says they are bagging it up. I 100% feel they didn't start my order until I got to the restaurant. But I did not complain. One of the options when ordering online is SILVERWARE. My husband is handicap and wasn't feeling well so we clicked on the offer of silverware so we could park somewhere and eat. By the time they brought my food to the front desk another table had sat down. I get to my car and no silverware. I walked back in and asked one of the women for silverware. She said ok. Then the man in the red shirt asked what was wrong. I said I just wanted silverware. We clicked it online but didn't get any. He goes behind the front desk and said (didn't you get a pizza?). I said yes and spaghetti. He Said you only get silverware when dining in or door dash. And acted mad and rude because I asked for a 5cent plastic fork. The lady mumbled something in another language as I walked away. I don't know what triggered his attitude by asking for silverware but it was uncalled for. I drove 27 miles to eat there. So you are saying only people who use a 3rd party delivery are entitled to a fork? That was the dumbest response and it shouldn't matter if I want to slurp soup with a fork.i paid $35 for my meal and I don't think it was too much to ask, considering it was an option on your online ordering. not to mention it was 43 minutes from the time I placed my order until I got my food. But the time wasn't the issue. I hope whatever sparked his attitude is corrected. I was an innocent customer wanting a simple fork. But our food...
Read moreThe first test of a kitchen is its vegetables. Giovanni's passes this test, and most of the other tests, with a perfect grade: 100%; AAA. Fresh broccoli, artfully sliced zucchini, perfectly proportioned carrot julienne, each cooked to a perfect texture, seasoned exactly right, served beautifully. And mushrooms too. I have never before seen anyone succeed putting mushrooms in this kind of sautee, but Giovanni's absolutely succeeded. The other tests? Meat. I had veal in lemon sauce, and my wife had chicken in lemon sauce, and once again, the kitchen has achieved perfection. This is the Sicilian mode, with lemon, capers, garlic, and a few proprietary touches. Everything comes together exactly they way 1000 years of Sicilian housewives would approve, rich and piquant at the same time, fragrant, lightly coating the meat and providing a rewarding sauce for the vegetables. I can't comment on the pasta since we didn't order it, but from what I saw at adjoining tables, the portions are large and the people eating it are enjoying it. Another test: the wine list. It's small, thoughtfully put together, and undoubtedly tailored to local tastes. We had no trouble choosing something to our taste that paired well with what we ordered. Ambiance: the room is well lit, comfortable, and anything but ostentatious. It's decorated with paintings that provide a lovely sense of Italian fun. On this Saturday evening a pianist was with us playing an electronic keyboard, providing a most interesting background of show tunes, classical pieces, opera, and fun stuff. I have no idea who the musician is, but I can tell you he is an elegant and thoughtful interpreter, with impeccable technical skills, a lovely sense of repertoire, and he added immeasurably to our pleasure in the evening. And he kept the volume down so the music was there when we wanted to listen, but never dominated or interfered with conversation. The one test that Giovanni's fails miserably: location. It's in Ardmore, Oklahoma. It needs to be relocated to Calgary, Alberta, preferably in walking...

This is NOT an Italian Food Restaurant!
My wife and I were in town and looking for a cozy noncommercial, non-chain, locally owned restaurant to enjoy an evening together on our weekend getaway. I found this location and decided to visit because of the great reviews. To our surprise upon receiving our appetizer, we noticed that our food wasn't fresh. We tried the Bruschetta that should be broiled and should have cheese. It was neither! The Fried Mozzarella Sticks were indeed frozen and preheated. The server said everything was bought frozen and reheated. The Salad, was a Sad side salad made with iceberg lettuce and one slice of tomato and sprinkled shredded cheese. Then we received our entrées and then realized that none of our food was fresh. The chicken from the Chicken Parmesan was in fact frozen chicken that was all preheated in a microwave. The pasta on the Chicken Parmesan was descent. The chicken on my wife's Chicken Alfredo was also store-baught microwave preheated chicken. The pasta was overcooked, mushy, and bland. Being one of the few "Italian" food restaurants, we thought everything would be made fresh to order. But it wasn't! I ate some of my meal and my wife barely touched hers. We still paid for the meal. To make matters worse and add insult to injury, we found out later that night when I was checking my credit card, I discovered that either the owner or one of the employees charged me an extra $7 to my ticket. It's not the $7 charge, it's the fact that they took the liberty to make an unauthorized charge to my card. They had already given me my receipt with a total amount. This is in fact, stealing! I never authorized the extra charge! It dissappoints me that they would stoop that low to take money from their customers without proper authorization. Please double-check your receipt and your financial institution for any...
