EL CHINCHORRO DE CONGO — Restaurant in Arecibo

I was sadly disappointed. After looking up info , seeing what was on the menu and what I was presented with did not match. As a long time food and customer service person I can't and will not recommend this place, it would be a great disservice on my part. On arrival an hour after opening the food display cases were empty not because they had been emptied but because they were not ready. We ordered 4 "cuajitos" I observed as they were prepared. Half of a banana was cut into two pieces and the rest was filled with mostly broth and very little cuajo. Very salted While in line the couple behind us was directed across the street to have their order taken and served. My party received our food and made our way across to sit. The couple behind us were seated and were never addressed. A young woman was on her phone went across to retrieve a drink, put napkins on tables and not once addressed the people seated to see if they had ordered or needed to order. The couple left in discuss with a few audible words that were not flattering. Chickens were all over the tables leaving fecal matter behind. All in...

My first visit on Saturday 5 pm... Although friendly staff, we waited for a long hour and a half for 4 mofongo Burger's we asked twice for them until we finally get them...they were supposed to come with cheese balls they don't have them what I got was stone cold potato fries.the waitress was so embarrassed she apologized twice and complimented us with 2 sodas on the house for the inconveniences.... I can understand if there were a lot of people when we came in but it was just a couple there also I can understand sometimes things doesn't go as we planned...as for me if the burger didn't took too long to get to our little table and the food were hot ... there's nothing a little salt couldn't fix... The place is innovative and they get creative with the empanadas and pastelillo... I encourage you to go and see 4 your selves ... Who knows maybe your experience there is better...

Went here for the first time 2 days ago on Thursday July 18th 2024 and this place was horribly disappointing. They had NOTHING, NO mojitos of any sort, NO cuajó and NO empanadas of any sort as well except for only one the 'el congo' which was extremely bland no flavor and took 40min to be done and they were tiny and not huge like they advertise. Very expensive. This place advertises that they always have everything and they had absolutely nothing so they FALSE ADVERTISE and we got there early exactly at 3pm and they open at 11am and they already had absolutely nothing! What made it worse is that we drove 45min to get there from Camuy because of how well they advertised there establishment and it was nothing but a complete disappointing lie, will NEVER come here again.
