So my husband and I live down the road about a mile-ish, and we just moved to Alabama, so everywhere we eat is a new experience for us, witch is perfectly fine, if anything, I love any kind of new experience. But this night didn't set anyway other than BAD!! for my hubby and I, BOTH.... We weren't to happy with our food.. It tasted Lil weird but we were starving! So we inhaled as much as possible. I only ate the shrimp from my plate. It was street tacos ... So I have probably 7-8ish Lil small shrimps.. I forced myself to eat the last 3 bites of my shrimp, BC I felt like I was being picky.. I regretted it instantly... I could feel the food in the middle of my throat, like it was about to come right back up.. It wasnt but a handful of shirimp so I figured whatever I'm just being weird... When we got home, not even 5 mins he and I were in the worst place ever, puking and diarrhea!! Oh I almost forgot. He ate a completely different dish than me, but we were on the toilet for half the night. It was so horrible, I had an accident on my self, while running to the toilet at one point that night!!! But with all that... After we got that demon out of our selfs, we were good lol. .... WARNING!!! ! EAT, WITH, CAUTION!!! .... or... probably don't eat...
Read moreHands down my favorite Mexican restaurant! My wife and I come here at least once a week, it's gotten to the point where the staff know our orders almost before we sit down!
The staff are wonderful and make sure you don't go without anything you need. If I HAD to complain about anything, it's that they don't let a drink get below half before refilling, but that's not a bad thing. :)
The food is easily the biggest draw. I'm originally from California, so I've been around some good Mexican, but La Cazuela is still the best that I've ever had. Most Mexican restaurants have a very similar taste and style, but they stand out among the crowd, and stand head and shoulders above!
I note this below in the parking section, but parking can get a little hectic during peak hours. The restaurant is popular and the parking lot can fill up. There is a church behind that will get used for overflow, but DO NOT park in front of the...
Read moreWe've given this place two opportunities because we live close and really wanted it to succeed. We couldn't be more disappointed. When we asked about a top shelf Margarita, the waiter looked very confused and offered the 99 cent margarita. We explained we would like a Don Julio and Grand Marnier margarita. We saw both of those on the shelf when we entered. They brought a pitcher of what tasted like Mellow Yellow with tequila. It was terrible. We decided to stay and try the food. It only got worse from here. The salsa was mediocre(expected). Queso was very different from normal, not terrible, but not good either. The ground beef burrito tasted like the meat was browned then drained and thrown in without seasoning. I'm a very easy to please type person, but this was hands down the worst Mexican I've had in the Birmingham area. I'm sorry guys, I really wanted to be a repeat customer, but I won't be...
