Nothing out of the ordinary, I sit down, the waitress Jessyca approaches me asking me what I'd like to order, I reply an American standard double 🍔 burger with extra extra pickles, she walks off, comes back 5 minutes later stating they're out of pickles which for me makes the burger. I let her know I'll have a chicken 🐔 fried 🥩 steak, she walks off and 10 minutes pass, waitress Ginger approaches me, tells me they're switching places because Jessyca with a y has gone home, no big deal, I'm okay with that, then I see Jessyca with a y serving two other groups of people that walked in a few minutes after she was supposedly done with her shift and gone home from what waitress Ginger told me. I had asked that the food was prepared a certain way which got served not to my liking, again not a big deal, but you lie to me about the reason for a server swap, you bring the nasty food out bland, you never approach to ask if the meal is okay, or if I need a refill on my drink and rush to bring me the tab, that's not okay. I politely asked for the manager, I explain the situation to the manager about being lied to and poor service, I also let the manager know that I'm still willing to tip knowing that's how servers make money (I'm big on service and tip very generously), but when Ginger approaches me with the receipt, she doesn't apologize for misleading me, no sorry Sir for the misunderstanding, or thank you for dinning with us, just a straight dry the top copy is yours and the bottom one is ours. So I took the liberty of not leaving a single red cent for a tip, which I've never done before. Don't lie to people and make a person feel unwelcome when one is simply trying to enjoy their meal, patronize your establishment and give a little bit of the money they've earned to you so you can survive financially as well. You need to do better and...
Read moreThere were 3 of us that came in to eat. The first thing that was an issue, was that the waitress came over and introduced her self and took out drink orders. We waited she never cam back by, then all of a sudden I heard her tell another waiters that we needed to be waited on. She took our drink order and also our food order all at one time. Which the decaf coffee was slightly warm. I order breakfast that I asked for the eggs to be basted, as did my sister. Well when we got out our meal you could put a fork in them and it held the fork "that's not basted that cooked solid". my sister potato's were cold. when I received my second batch of eggs they were 1/2 way cooked,. My sister second set of eggs were as most as raw like you would put in the blender. We asked for the manger and showed him the eggs and he said you want me to cook them, we looked and him and no thanks. We explained to him this is unacceptable. He looked at us like we were suppose to say oh that ok. We asked what he had plan to do, and he said well I can take 20 % off. REALLY. we didn't eat our meal because it was cold, over cooked and under cook. The waitress brought over our check and he gave us 20% off , how sweet. No my sister told him we are not paying for our meal because we didn't eat it., and he looked at us like we were stupid. The waitress came over and said she would take care of it, She brought the ticket back and took off our meals. We paid for the one meal because it was pancakes and coffee. The Cashier asked me how things were and then realized that we were the one who complained, I didn't say a thing. The waitress that served us was very sweet and helpful. I know this is a truck stop and they cater to them but if you are a traveling family I would not stop to have breakfast, it was horrible. I will never eat...
Read moreI am a OTR truck driver from California, I usually stop here just to put fuel and to take a shower, but today I decided that me and my daughter will stop and have some breakfast at the iron skillet. We walked in, and as I thought we can grab any seat that we can. We were then approached by one of the waitresses, a old white lady, and she told us that the dining area was in the back. I wasn’t 100% sure why she pointed us back that way being that there were other folks already sitting eating in that area. I figured maybe it was a reserved area . Then another waitress came and asked us what we would like to drink , she then left, and came back with our drinks, and we placed our order. Meanwhile, other people showed up and sat down in the back, and they placed their order as well. At least three other tables got their food before us when they arrived after us. Even another waitress, in confusion, asked if we have been helped already being that she was aware that she gave three other tables their food, and we were here before them. Then I witnessed two separate parties show up and sit in the front seated area. Both parties appeared to be white. Few moments later, a black lady shows up and the white old lady waitress comes out and told her that the sitting area is in the back, the lady looked around, and then she walked out, but kept looking back, confused, as the way old lady waitressed watched her walk out. That’s when I realized it wasn’t a reserved area. It made me very sad to witness some thing like this, let alone allow my eight-year-old daughter to witness something so cruel and racist. I have never ridden a review in my life, but this iron skillet in particular really just shocked me in so many ways. In discuss I will never come to eat here again. God bless...
